I have a friend who's cat is 10+ years old, and she still catches him crying when she leaves. He's also started carrying around her old Barbie doll whenever she's gone. We speculate that he associates the doll with her.
i have two itties, one almost 4 yrs old (oreo) and the other almost 4 months old (snickers) and they both went looking for the kitty in distress when i played this...oreo actually does the same thing your kitty did except he swipes his paws under the door and rolls over on the floor trying to peek under to see if you're still close by
BTW, I just played this video for my cats and they started running all over the house looke for the "kitty in distress"! As said in the previous post, just lgive her lots of love, reassurance and let her grow up a little...she should be fine.
If she's just 4 1/2 months old you gotta realize she's still a baby, and babies cry when they're separated from their mums. (which is obviously what she considers you.) Despite what old cliche's dictate, domestic cats aren't always the "aloof and independent" creature they're made out to be...they crave companionship and they love to be "where the action is" so to speak. Don't worry...she'll grow out of the clingy stage soon enough...just give her lots of love and I'm sure she'll be fine.
