To the people who think I'm endorsing Dickies because they pulled me into an interview during my walk through SXSW, I'm actually not. Thanks for being so quick to hop on the opportunity to school me though. Haha. Respect, respect.
Sage Francis, I am a big fan but the information I put below is from the "The WE" website, search google I know you care about worker rights so please reconsider condoning the Dickies company. Of course ethical consumerism is good but real emancipation lies in the abolition of the wages system and the establishment of a moneyless stateless society based around common ownership and democratic control of the means of production. P.S saw you in London about 5years ago, you coming back to the U.K?
In May 2007, its workers tried to form a union but as reported by a labor rights monitor on the scene. It's investigation:
"Found that workers had been psychologically and verbally harassed, dismissed without warning, and forced to sign resignation letters for attempting to form an independent union at the factory and that at least some workers dismissed for union activities have been blacklisted.... the official reason given for workers dismissed.... was 'lack of work.' "
@freddiemercerful That sounds like a pretty shitty society to me, luckily I live in a free country that would never allow that crap
