they are still at low lvl, glad didnt use "crippling cut" after the cleric got stumbled. and also the stumble rate is too low, because he hasnt learnt "Boost Stumble". cleric shouldda kited, thats for sure, he should root+heal+smite, and the root CD is 10sec with 6sec effective, it should be fairly easy to own that glad.
so far iam not impressed with WoW aion or warhammer....i'll stick with good old fashion Daoc.IMO the best pvp/rvr out there and for some reason Daoc is attracting a lot of new players, i know still not as many as aion or wow but 3k/4k on one cluster makes for some good rvr ...not a ghost town anymore and developer patches speak of new content,wepaons and a new threat
Key is to kite. * nod nod * And yeah, early levels of Cleric is very mind numbing and boring. It's also difficult when it comes to protecting yourself against Asmos (at least it was for me being an Elyos) but once you get to the higher 30's, it gets a lot easier because you can kite better. Root becomes your best friend. :D At least for me.
only some moves have cast times most moves from glads and sins are instantu dont stand still in pvp :P and this vid is weak man ur too low a lvl to put up any good duels this games pvp and pvpve surprised me and yes i played wow and i prefer this now defently at least trying out as long as u dont mind a bit of grinding too lvl but i imagin wow players be use to that. and if u havnt played it u cant really comment on the gameplay or pvp(ve)
You might want to rephrase that, in wow pve you dont really move but in wow pvp you move much more then aion as most abilties are usable on the go. What I believe you ment to say is that the abilities in Aion have more pleasing and action oriented graphics then wow abilities.

i play wow and i like it but since Lich king seems like the best part of pvp which is imo world pvp died off and everyone is raiding. other than that im pure pvp and im looking forward to this game. So all the wow fans talking shit about this game are probably Raiders / PvE fags that cant pvp simple as that.
As i say to 90% of Clerics in PvP, USER YOUR ROOT!!! It has low cd, and is therefore spammable! Root, get away, heal, smite + followup, then melee skills, than root, back away, heal, smite... etc

The only decent reveiw this game had was NCsoft payed reveiw by IGN. The gameplay is mindless grinding and it has a simpleton community full of no brainer trolls. The games code is flawed and NCsoft is unable to get rid of the game seller plague. Im just letting people know its not worth their hard earned money so stop trying to defend Aion and get a fucking life.

Can someone point me in the direction of what a GOOD pvp should be like? because from all of the videos ive seen here, there is atleast a couple people stating how this is NOT how to pvp. So I'm just curious as to what a Good PvP battle might be. Is that too much to ask for? Or will these criticizing commentators post their own videos?
In aion movement is very helpful, it increses/descreses stats.
For example, moving back increses defense but lowers your attack, moving forward does the opposite, etc. So when you see these videos of ppl just sitting there using skills, most likely means they are noob who dont realize this.

At low lvls clerics kill very slowly. Best way i heard it was you "bore the mob to death." High lvls clerics rape face. With thier heals, decent damage output, and high defense, most good pvp clerics kill everything they come across.... unless it's another cleric, then it's just luck.

That Gladiator is LAME! At his level he has a 3 chain combo.....which he didn't use. First you use the skill which lowers their armor by 100. Then you use Seismic Wave followed by your three chain skills. The last chain usally knocks them down too. If he wasn't hopping around like a freakin moron and was just pounding on that cleric he would have killed that Cleric fast, but the cleric sucked as well for just standing there.
The gladiator is bad, he needs to keep attacking so he can interrupt you. I never lose duels to chanters or clerics on my gladiator. After the initial snare I just suffocate them and their heals.

Cleric should be able to beat gladiator every time unless there's a massive level difference.
Restrain, blinding light, DoT (mistranslated with my language pack, don't know the name), light spirit, and your smite skillchain. Use festering wound to reduce the amount they can heal with improved stamina.
All you need to do is kite them. It's so easy. No cleric should have any issues killing a glad, especially if you socket mainly HP/Mboost.
I have experience with dual glads (pre 1.2/1.5 dual wield was overpowered) and pole glads. I duel glads with gear on par to mine and glads with far better gear than mine, my level and up.
One of my alts (post v1.2) is a decked out glad (37) and I just avoid clerics in pvp.
When a cleric is kiting you, there's really nothing you can do (aside from pull out a bow) every time you get in range, your attack timer is reset. Can ankle snare them, but the dmg you do in that time is usually not enough
You must not be fighting potion decked Gladiators then. If a Cleric and a Gladiator both have the same amount of money, the Gladiator will have more health potions than the Cleric, because the Cleric also needs mana potions. If we can rush you using bow techniques, and reach you even for a hit or two, we can eventually burn you out. Your spells cost a shitload of mana, I found alot of techniques against overall cleric combat, and ground Spirit Master combat while training with my guildmates.
Most Glads you fight probably suck, Judging by how over populated the class is. I don't try to brag or be a high-ego'ed shitwad, but I think of myself as one of the few Gladiators who knows that the fuck he's doing.
More background info - The glads I duel and I are all decked out in full gold sets. We all have a speed of 7.5 (I think) from 22% boots and out titles *before* we toss on run scrolls (30%).
If I didn't use a run scroll and they did, I would be dead quickly, because they'd catch me. Cleric vs Gladiator is ALL about kiting the gladiator and doing damage gradually for a long time (unless you get lucky with smite skillchain it takes forever)
And fighting clerics is about know how to rush an enemy, and knowing the use of your debuffs. I guess just having been a warrior for years allows me to get to my enemies easy.
Oh yeah, and I usually PvP with my friend who is a SpiritMaster, and he fears, and Knock enemies out of the sky, so normally I never even have to worry about being able to rush my enemies.
Does glad have a faster snare than ankle snare? I thought it was a 2min cooldown. When they get a snare on me is when I blind them. My snare is every 8 secs.
The only trouble I have with glad 1v1 is if they use the aerial move + move that throws you down when I'm not at full health. If I can survive that, I'm good though.
In 1.5 polearm is buffed and duels nerfed, so hopefully that'll make glad vs cleric easier, I'm going glad on release.
Let's agree on one thing: the cleric in the video sucked.
No, the glads I'm fighting are good glads. Glads who actually parse/research/know their class inside and out. I'm not bragging about fighting random rift/abyss encounter glads - those I don't care about.
Money isn't an issue for us (chinese servers = weird economy) we walk around with hundreds of pots at all times, so we're about the same.The point is I don't *need* to use health pots if I'm doing it right, and festering wound reduces all healing you receive (improved stamina, pots).
I like what the graphics look like, if you max them out they would be much better than WoW's. Also, it looks lots of fun, with the classes built well and pvp looking pretty good, looks like it requires a lot of skill to pvp (which was somewhat lacking in this video) unlike some games where it comes down to who can burst damage faster. I have one question though, can chanters heal? because I saw a bunch of people who said they don't run out of mana and so if they don't wouldnt they just be op'd?
Chanters can heal since they are cleric based. Mana consumption at early levels is so low that its not noticeable for some classes. When you hit lv 20 or so you will start to see it drop more rapidly especially when skill chaining.

only some moves have cast times most moves from glads and sins are instantu dont stand still in pvp :P and this vid is weak man ur too low a lvl to put up any good duels this games pvp and pvpve surprised me and yes i played wow and i prefer this now defently at least trying out as long as u dont mind a bit of grinding too lvl but i imagin wow players be use to that. and if u havnt played it u cant really comment on the gameplay or pvp(ve)

You might want to rephrase that, in wow pve you dont really move but in wow pvp you move much more then aion as most abilties are usable on the go. What I believe you ment to say is that the abilities in Aion have more pleasing and action oriented graphics then wow abilities.

listen man ...WoW is old ive been playin since vanilla WoW n im tired of the same shitty efects n graphics not to mention im tired of the same raid grind. its goes like this, you get a tier set, great good for u 2 weeks later a new patch is out with another better tier n a 5 man dungeon that provides the same gear lvl as the nasty raids (which become pugable) u went thru last patch and pvp is just a nasty honor grind...arena right now is ok..tired of the same spin melee atack

@Cabal1011 In Aion its the same thing, you have to know how to CC, use your skills, Interupt the other persons skills. Except Aion you can fly which makes world pvp in the abyss the baws. You Play WoW cus you want easy gear I play aion cus i prefer the pvp over WoW. I never see any good world pvp in WoW thats because all you do is gank, you don't see a good fight. Im tired of BG's and arenas, Not many people are getting raids against cities. so im just stuck in dalaran running in circles........

i play wow and i like it but since Lich king seems like the best part of pvp which is imo world pvp died off and everyone is raiding. other than that im pure pvp and im looking forward to this game. So all the wow fans talking shit about this game are probably Raiders / PvE fags that cant pvp simple as that.

As i say to 90% of Clerics in PvP, USER YOUR ROOT!!! It has low cd, and is therefore spammable! Root, get away, heal, smite + followup, then melee skills, than root, back away, heal, smite... etc

The only decent reveiw this game had was NCsoft payed reveiw by IGN. The gameplay is mindless grinding and it has a simpleton community full of no brainer trolls. The games code is flawed and NCsoft is unable to get rid of the game seller plague. Im just letting people know its not worth their hard earned money so stop trying to defend Aion and get a fucking life.

Can someone point me in the direction of what a GOOD pvp should be like? because from all of the videos ive seen here, there is atleast a couple people stating how this is NOT how to pvp. In aion movement is very helpful, it increses/descreses stats.
For example, moving back increses defense but lowers your attack, moving forward does the opposite, etc. So when you see these videos of ppl just sitting there using skills, most likely means they are noob who dont realize this.

At low lvls clerics kill very slowly. Best way i heard it was you "bore the mob to death." High lvls clerics rape face. With thier heals, decent damage output, and high defense, most good pvp clerics kill everything they come across.... unless it's another cleric, then it's just luck.

That Gladiator is LAME! At his level he has a 3 chain combo.....which he didn't use. First you use the skill which lowers their armor by 100. Then you use Seismic Wave followed by your three chain skills. The last chain usally knocks them down too. If he wasn't hopping around like a freakin moron and was just pounding on that cleric he would have killed that Cleric fast, but the cleric sucked as well for just standing there.

This is junk. The Glad doesnt use the right skills the cleric is duelling with a staff.
This is actually quiet an old game and the 1v1 is well documented.
Oh and Glad fans, if you thinkwell played PvP build Clerics are something you can pick on, you are very much mistaken.
Quite a few ex wow fans are in for a big shock when they go healer stomping in Aion.

The gladiator is bad, he needs to keep attacking so he can interrupt you. I never lose duels to chanters or clerics on my gladiator. After the initial snare I just suffocate them and their heals.

Cleric should be able to beat gladiator every time unless there's a massive level difference.
Restrain, blinding light, DoT (mistranslated with my language pack, don't know the name), light spirit, and your smite skillchain. Use festering wound to reduce the amount they can heal with improved stamina.
All you need to do is kite them. It's so easy. No cleric should have any issues killing a glad, especially if you socket mainly HP/Mboost.

I have experience with dual glads (pre 1.2/1.5 dual wield was overpowered) and pole glads. I duel glads with gear on par to mine and glads with far better gear than mine, my level and up.
One of my alts (post v1.2) is a decked out glad (37) and I just avoid clerics in pvp.
When a cleric is kiting you, there's really nothing you can do (aside from pull out a bow) every time you get in range, your attack timer is reset. Can ankle snare them, but the dmg you do in that time is usually not enough

You must not be fighting potion decked Gladiators then. If a Cleric and a Gladiator both have the same amount of money, the Gladiator will have more health potions than the Cleric, because the Cleric also needs mana potions. If we can rush you using bow techniques, and reach you even for a hit or two, we can eventually burn you out. Your spells cost a shitload of mana, I found alot of techniques against overall cleric combat, and ground Spirit Master combat while training with my guildmates.

Most Glads you fight probably suck, Judging by how over populated the class is. I don't try to brag or be a high-ego'ed shitwad, but I think of myself as one of the few Gladiators who knows that the fuck he's doing.

More background info - The glads I duel and I are all decked out in full gold sets. We all have a speed of 7.5 (I think) from 22% boots and out titles *before* we toss on run scrolls (30%).
If I didn't use a run scroll and they did, I would be dead quickly, because they'd catch me. Cleric vs Gladiator is ALL about kiting the gladiator and doing damage gradually for a long time (unless you get lucky with smite skillchain it takes forever)
I use MP over time pots. I have over 6.5k HP.

Does glad have a faster snare than ankle snare? I thought it was a 2min cooldown. When they get a snare on me is when I blind them. My snare is every 8 secs.
The only trouble I have with glad 1v1 is if they use the aerial move + move that throws you down when I'm not at full health. If I can survive that, I'm good though.
In 1.5 polearm is buffed and duels nerfed, so hopefully that'll make glad vs cleric easier, I'm going glad on release.
Let's agree on one thing: the cleric in the video sucked.

No, the glads I'm fighting are good glads. Glads who actually parse/research/know their class inside and out. I'm not bragging about fighting random rift/abyss encounter glads - those I don't care about.
Money isn't an issue for us (chinese servers = weird economy) we walk around with hundreds of pots at all times, so we're about the same.The point is I don't *need* to use health pots if I'm doing it right, and festering wound reduces all healing you receive (improved stamina, pots).

I like what the graphics look like, if you max them out they would be much better than WoW's. Also, it looks lots of fun, with the classes built well and pvp looking pretty good, looks like it requires a lot of skill to pvp (which was somewhat lacking in this video) unlike some games where it comes down to who can burst damage faster. I have one question though, can chanters heal? because I saw a bunch of people who said they don't run out of mana and so if they don't wouldnt they just be op'd?

Chanters can heal since they are cleric based. Mana consumption at early levels is so low that its not noticeable for some classes. When you hit lv 20 or so you will start to see it drop more rapidly especially when skill chaining.
