Bashing Aires is practically sacrilegious, and I don't agree with defending Morishima's fat ass or using the lariot as a finisher. That being said, that was a really good interview. Normally 9 minute interviews suck but that was worth the time. Best I've seen from Nigel. Aries is a better champ though, so's Dragon.

I'm guessing you are one of those "I think I'm smart" smart marks who isn't really all that smart.

First off, Morishima is very talented. Second, Kenta Kobashi uses the lariat, so did Stan Hansen, and JBL (who's actually good) so it's not like he's using the Chikara Special. It's a move that's actually realistic.

Aries is pretty good, and Dragon was a better champion, but he's Dragon, so cut Nigel some slack.

I'm not a mark, I just don't enjoy watching fat wrestlers because no one can do any of their moves to them. Morishima is boring as shit, and I don't watch wrestling for realism, doing so "isn't really all that smart" given we all know that going in the outcomes are decided. I watch it for entertainment, and to be fat people are not entertaining. I'll agree about Kenta, obviously, but I find it hard to compliment anything about JBL. Nigel > JBL any day.

It's not all about moves though, if everyone was built somewhere between Jack Evans and Claudio, it'd be pretty boring. Morishima adds another dimension, you can't do certain moves to him, so you have to get creative, it adds to the story and pyschology of the match and he knows how to play it up perfectly, which is why he's good.

Tje way I see it...

JBL gets heat; heat is good. Wrestling is about emotion, and telling a story: that's what makes it an art, and what can make each match unique and worthwhile, and in that, Nigel is one of the best in the world, because people give a shit about his matches.

Realism keeps me in matches, and Morishima beating the shit out of people, or Nigel beheading opponents is entertaining and seems realistic. Chikara specials make me think I'm watching some goofy pointless shit.
