  • Hi

Do you think this is a good upgrade from a X-Fi Titanium Edition sound card? Does this sound card have any problems with windows 7? I want something better than my x-fi...thanks happy new year

  • Good review. I just bought a Claro Halo, highly recommended. Makes any pair of headphones immensely better.

  • Would you recommend this for a producer? Cause im getting it damnit.... Soon as i get paid, its a wrap I want it. I want the best of the best. Guitar center got 1000 dollar cards. What you think?

  • @JoshuaYarb,

I think its a good card, however ASUS has some very nice high end cards now. This video is a few years old... keep that in mind when searching for your new audio card..

  • Have you had any issues with this sound card? I have always used sound blaster cards but my x-fi card died a week ago and I want a card with a built in amp for headphones. I see alot of glowing reviews for this card on newegg but I dont really know anything about this company and any extra info would be helpful. I should note I am a gamer but also a audiophile, I listen to nothing but lossless audio and I really want a card to bring my music to life!

  • @LBGreenthumb ,

NO issue's with this sound card. However its not a bit out dated, I have switched back to Soundblaster because of the game support.

  • Apparently it doesn't have EAX and OpenAL so gamers may want to avoid this

  • @ShadowEater120880 EAX is copyrighted by Creative, I believe. Which sound card would you recommend for gaming? I need a card with good directional but have no idea what to look for.

  • @gamersxs Any will do for gaming. If you aren't a serious sound producer then any will do. Gaming doesn't really test sound cards that much.

  • is better card than any soundblaster sht n also the asus xonar sht.

  • So this card is better than the Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium?

  • im still confused. there arent very many sources i could find about this, but do these have virtual surround sound? kinda like the hs1 and some other headphones that have a usb sound card that have virtual surround sound? like if i buy a headset for gaming (maybe the gamecom 367 and il upgrade later) will it be virtual surround sound with this card??

    thx

  • Fail...

    192bit doesn't exist... It's a 192kHz card.. With 24bit...

  • @xeolin4u yea he sounds noob lol

  • what a clown do u even need this sound card??? what kind of audio set up do u have

  • maybe those PC sound cards are supposed to run PC speakers and not studio speakers? Does any of the card claim they can run "studio" speakers?Oh and what kind of studio speakers do you have anyway? Maybe I can find something that works 100% if you haven't already found your perfect sound card. The Asus Xonar Essence STX looks fucking good, 5/5 eggs but not available there on newegg atm.

  • if you don't know, several years ago Asus bought out the rights for the C-Media chipsets, so new ones aren't being produced under the C-Media name, but now branded under the Asus name in their sound cards

  • How's the sound card so far? My onboard sound died then using my old xfi and its barely working takes a few sec to get it working and i Hear static with my xfi via headphones ;(

  • So this HT Omega Claro+ sounds better than the Asus Xonar HDAV1.3 that you have?

  • I wouldnt say it sounds better, I belive both of these audio cards run the same chipset, just branded different. The ASUS is nice, however in my system Directx games wouldn't run right, very low fps, the HT OMega doesn't effect games, so who knows why that card did that, asus didnt even have the answer to that question.

  • Is there a difference in sound quality over the Omega Striker? I have a set of Logitech z5500's. The claro I know supports 192khz but my speakers only go up to 96khz. Anyway I was to ask if the claro can go lower to 96khz for my speakers without worrying about burning out my speakers. Also, if both cards run at 96khz on the same speakers, is there any difference in sound quality in games and movies and music. This made no sense i know :(

  • What is the best sound card u have so far? I had the HT Omega Claro+ a while back but I sold it. Now Im thinking about getting a sound card but not sure which one. I know Ht Omega has a new sound card and I think it's called Omega Halo

  • This has been the best sound card, however when watching movies it doesnt always pick up on the correct 5.1 vs stereo etc. In games it works well with no errors. Sound wise, it smokes Sound Blaster. However SB cards work on any game, however they buzz, meaning if you amp your speakers like me, you get line noise from ASUS / SB cards.

  • I'm in the process of purchasing a pair of Mackie MR8 monitors as well as a mackie HRS 120 subwoofer - how did you hook up your surrounds??

  • I sent you a message to your inbox
