  • How's the Sony sound system??? No word on that.....

  • it comes with siri

  • is not fiesta?

  • gslassport.it/master/test.htm

  • A car without direct injection in 2012 doesn't belong on the road. Ford really moves forward.

  • There is a slight error in this video, the Focus can look on the left side of the street, you just need to activate your left turn signal to switch sides.

  • Most of the issues he has with the screen are being fixed in the MFT update in the next month or so.

  • доебался до еблонавигации

  • I have a 2012 sedan (auto) dropped in a K&N filter and I do more than 42 mpg. I also have a 2005 stick shift (144k miles) with K&N and a magnaflow and I topped out at 38mpg on that one

  • a dual clutch transmittion? are you kidding? only premium sports cars have that like ferraris and porsches. this must be a normal 6 spd auto

  • @cardude1992 yeah cnet would just lie about it... even tho it says on the Ford website dual clutch transmission...

  • @cardude1992 uhh, you can get a VW polo, and even a SEAT ibiza with dual clutch transmission. a 7 speed one at that.

  • @dunti21 yeah i know that but i thought only vw had dcts in their ordinary cars. i guess ford just stepped up their game

  • nicee review this guy made me laugh kinda :DD

  • Great review! Thumbs up!

  • I have the 07 hatch focus and I love the handling :D I'd love to trade it in for the 2012 ST tho. love the turbo on that puppy

  • 2 USB sluts here. Well, I'd like to buy a Focus with sluts in it.

  • 14 people don't have cars that can park themselfs

  • @MrCami1234 First learn to fucking spell!! Second, if you need a car that can park itself then you probably shouldn't be driving at all. Although this is Americans I'm talking about, they cant even manage manual drive without getting confused.

  • the engine on the 2010-present Ford Focus

    Engine

    1.0 L EcoBoost I3

    1.6 L Duratec Ti-VCT I4

    1.6 L EcoBoost I4

2.0 L Duratec Ti-VCT I4 GDI (Not available in Europe, except Russia: only engine available in North America)

    2.0 L EcoBoost I4 (ST, 2012)

    1.6 L Duratorq TDCi

    2.0 L Duratorq TDCi

  • i don't like all of that lcd shit in my face. I want a simpler car.

  • If you need assistance to park a car you shouldn't be driving. You should be baking.

  • too much technology these days.(My touch) But it's a neat car and this engineering will hopefully BURY the hybrid and the electric pieces of garbage out there

  • looks kinda like a minivan

  • I just hope the 2013 Focus due out this Spring has the Euro Spec upgrades such as the EcoBoost and bi xenon headlamps on the Titanium model.

  • @cu29640 thats not gonna be the titanium. the titanium only has that 6 speed powercrap auto.. the 2013 focus ST will have the high performance ecoboost with a good ol 6 speed manual gear box :D

  • @hartattack940 Well the European Titanium has a smaller Eco Boost and the bi Xenon headlights. Yes the ST will have those and the large Eco Boost. The Dual Clutch Auto on the Focus has been tweaked since initial tests and is as good as the one VW uses in the GTI etc...I have driven both...owned a GTI

  • @cu29640 Or should I saw the GTI owned me as many times as I was in the service dept for dumb electrical issues. Though I loved the car. A great car trumps any services issues IMO. A great car is not always an expensive car..the public fails to see that which is why you see Land Rovers, FWD Camry Lexus' etc crusing around with drivers who don't know anything about cars.

  • the autopark system will look for spots on the left if you put your left blinker on

  • Never seen such a person make a big issue out of a Comms/Entertainment/Sat NAV issue like this "alleged" reviewer. How picky was he...If he moans about his women like SatNav, I have to ask if he's single. :-)

  • I love how they say "The one the rest of the world has liked for a long time" Erm... it's only just been out everywhere else too lol

  • @adamc260 Ford Focus has been a EU Ford division model for a long time, built and developed in germany, and its been completely different than the car americans knew as the focus. This new Focus has also been mostly developed in germany, in fact, everything except infotainment system was developed by european engineers in EU division of Ford, originally this car was intended to be sold as 3rd generation of Focus , but has become a worldwide model...same as Fiesta and now Fusion(Mondeo)

  • I have a ford Fiesta trend 2010, for sure and certain , in 2012 I'll buy this one "the ford foccus titanium", I falt in love.......

  • Nice review, love the emphasis on the technology built into the Focus.

  • Chet should fire this cunt.

  • On another note, I have a 2009 Focus (last generation) and when I sat inside one of these, it was night and day in difference. The build quality in particular, and the premium materials used completely thing I expected out of the Focus. Really impressive, same with the Fiesta

  • Excellent review. Aside from everything else, you didn't post a misleading 27K price tag in the end. The base price so people know what the trim costs, and the cost of packages which are OPTIONAL, often mistaken for the base price of the car.

  • best review. Great job Ford even with his problems i still like it.

  • The chevy cruze is much better in my opinion

  • seeing lots of these Focus on the road

  • Comment removed

  • @CNETTV It does park on the left, you have to put the left blinker on and the auto park feature will search for a spot on the laft

  • they are bashing the hyundai veloster for doing 0 to 60 in 8.8 seconds, and it has 138hp with 40 mpg freeway, the ford is no better

  • I can't focus on it, why does ford name it that!

  • Quit nit-picking on the Ford My Touch system - like any technology there is a learning curve - people adapt and get used to the technology very quickly. So it's not Star Trek computer response quick - get over it - it's fast enough.

  • @dulceypeligroso Completely agree... We are still reviewing the car... And the car is awesome for its class! I have no major problems with my Touch - and whatever occasionally pops up - is completely dealable with. LOL. I just made that word.

  • Did they turn the asian styling geeks loose on this too?The interior is A NIGHTMARE of STUPID shapes of fittings and controls. The body, front end not even the illusion of A protective (bumper) layer;no protection all that flimsly plastic grill crap is SO vulnerable and just UGLY.

  • Best car in its class. Test drove them all, nothing compares. Mazda 3 was the closest.

  • CAN YOU GIVEME A LIKE ? PLEAAASEEE :) I WANT TO WIN ONE OF THEM facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=242619639128403&set=a.234675416589492.56457.172783796111988&type=3&theater

  • 38 mpg highway is great for a non hybrid! Plus it's nice looking, compared to the old focus.

  • @Mark01gt 38mpg Highway means about 28mpg average. I have a 15 yr old 3.0 V6 getting 26mpg average, and a 95 Honda getting about 28mpg average. Which is why I won't buy a new car unless that start running on water.

  • This is certainly the Ford Focus - "The Car" that i have been waiting with more than baited breath for !!! Its a bit of a sleeper though by basic appearance and appearances

  • What a hot looking sport hatch, well done Ford! Can't wait for the 250HP ST Focus to arrive, will lay waste to much of the competition! Definetely considering this car.

  • looks crappy

  • He said " This vehicle does not look for parking on the left" but it does. Turn the left turn lights on and it looks on the left. If you have reviewed the vehicle, you should have learned all specifications.

  • looks small inside

will it fit a 6'3 tall man?

  • @MooseheadDrinker It will. My family picked one up, and I fit in it easy.

  • can i buy this without the navigation?

  • looks fruity

  • I build this car, so I own it.

  • I just bought one today... 2012 TIT... I am happy) WAY TO GO, FORD!

  • @Bernadine71 lol, TIT

  • this is not a car for america it's the ford product for europe made in germany but I think it's not the same car because a have a ford focus 2011 and i don't have any problem with it . I think the problem is that you're cars are produced in america but they took the same components from europe and that doesnt fit for amercian roads and for the gas that you have there

  • It parks itself!!!!!!!!!!!

  • which colour have this car?

  • doug brought me here!

  • I bought the SEL 2 months ago. It has been in the shop at least 4 times now. It has multiple problems - with new ones every time I get it back. I made a video of some of the problems on my channel because Ford is refusing to work with me. At first the problems were cosmetic now there are electrical problems and engine problems

  • @notreallyhere1022 OMG! Three months ago I bought a 2012 Ford Focus Titanium and it has been in the shop 4 times as well! I am also in the process of making videos since they can't reproduce all the issues at the dealership. My issues are all with the SYNC system. I have reported 10 different issues. They can't fix it. They now have a service message out stating they can't fix it and will be out with a software update sometime in the future. Worst customer service EVER!

  • @notreallyhere1022 I have always known not to buy a car from the first year run. They all have issues. LEXUS, the pillar of perfection amongst the bland general public, had mojor problems with the first IS and GS300 series products.

  • @cu29640 agreed we had loads of problems with my son's IS200; suspension, clutch and steering; the engine was OK; but handling and gearbox... so damn average.

My 2000 Ford Focus has been a more reliable better handling car.

  • Cnet blows drive this shit around a track

  • Oh yea, also w/ the launch control, 0-60 is 8 sec. dead.

  • Don't bother w/ the navigation, just get SYNC w/ services, it's much better than any nav system on the market.

  • The stock Titanium wheels are no good. You really should pay the extra $595 to get the Titanium Handling Package with the 18" five-spoke wheels and sport suspension.

  • I don't need the car parking for me!!! WTF!!

  • @JLRaider ...I totally concur @JLRaider, lmao!!!

  • whats the point of auto park? are we that lazy that we cant park our own car?

  • @randyontoo56 It's for women drivers

  • YES it does AUTO-PARK to the left, you have to turn ON the left blinker First.

  • Traded in a 2009 Pontiac G8 GT for the Focus. Obviously quite an adjustment initially. I really like the handling and the tech. Avg about 34 mpg overall. Nice vehicle. Very happy with my purchase.

  • Um, interior looks cheap, but the gauges aren't bad. $27K is pricey for a Ford. Paid $23k for my '08 Mazdaspeed3 GT, less MPG but tons more fun in every way! Other than having to use premium and mpg, I don't see any other reason to buy a Focus. I'd buy a Prius...when I've lost the passion for fast cars...and gas is $10/gal.

  • I have to say, after vehicle shopping for the past month and pretty much set on the 5 door Focus, a fully loaded Titanium does NOT come in at 22,500... More like $27,000. A base SE model comes in at 18,200 - 21,000 and the SEL at 20,000 - 25,000. I wish I could find a fully loaded Titanium Focus for 22,500.

  • Why is that car (equipped the same) 30 grand in Canada when the Canadian dollar is worth more?

  • the new focus is better then the old one

  • That parking thing is pretty cool

  • I still like MyFord Touch.

  • Typical cheap looking ford :-(

  • so... I'm getting that you don't like the nav-system? or am I mistaken :-)

  • What's better this or the new Toyota Prius specifically the 4 and 5 trim but simpily just 2012 ford focus vs Toyota Prius

  • I still don't like that there is no manual transmission for the higher level Focus. I got a GTI instead. I liked the car but the manual S version had the cheap cloth that looked good despite the quality. Loved how the car looked inside and out and was considering it. With the GTI I got superior interior, turbo, sunroof,6.7 and 6 speed manual, but no nav or self parking and paid 23800.

  • HEY..PORK IF U DUN KNOW DRIVE A CAR.. BUY A BICYCLE... FORD FOCUS IS THE BEST

  • it looks for parking on the left. You just have to put the signal to the left :)

  • Best review on the Focus I have seen yet. TX!

  • çok kötü bu kasası bundan bi önceki kasa harika

  • This car has so many quality control problems. I just bought one a few weeks ago and it has had so many problems and spend almost 2 weeks in the shop for repairs. The finish of the car inside has so many problems. I made some videos of the problems on my channel

  • @notreallyhere1022 i think your the one with the problems. You probably dont even own one.

  • @DevPack I'm not trolling. I bought a race red one 5 weeks ago. I made a video of some of the problems on my channel. I'm getting a lawyer because Ford is refusing to fix some of the problems - saying all of the vehicles are that way

  • @notreallyhere1022 wow that really sucks...there is always a dud car maybe u ended up with it.

  • that auto park is a bit silly on this class of car, on a Lexus LS its probably useful cause its a huge car. but this car is tiny, any one who couldnt park this car probably shouldnt have a license.

  • @chap8938 I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU ON THAT!!lol

  • Sweet car

  • 160hp is pretty decent for a 4cyl

  • It finds parking on the left if you click the left indicator while searching for a spot... It works just as well on either side!!

  • love the active park assist!

  • The reviewer gets it ALL WRONG when he calls the sedan 'dowdy'. I beg to differ; it looks great, like a strong overachiever. (Stop being a twit, Cooley.) The tech features as mentioned--navigation, parking assist--are cool. But seriously...if you can't park a car yourself, or find it too much of a 'hassle' to map out unfamiliar territory in advance, you shouldn't be driving. Ford, you've given America a winner! I love this car. Looking forward to a Focus Sportwagon (hint, hint).

  • davegpmoto why hatin on sucess on 4 wheels?

  • I test drove an SE sedan today and it felt great on power, considering this is not meant to rein in Mustang territory. I find it very refined for the price and the look is polarizing, I agree, but I like it. That should keep gramps from buying it.

  • @Davegpmoto21 Is that why you spend your free time trolling Ford Videos?

  • The SatNav is on the SD card?

    Does anyone have the iso?

  • Audi nice at ford price. I've had many cars. Skeptical about a ford but this was very nice. Better tranny than my Audi. Less rattles than my mini. More high end power than my tdi. More interior features than my denali, nicer quality interior too. I agree read a map, learn to park save the money. Nice review overall too. Oh and hey Davemoto; you haven't a clue so shut up. That's a direct shut your mouth order.

  • i test this card today ,very nice, fun to drive ,sound system is nice also..the bad ..is not a quite ride, very loud "engine and road" also very small front and rear... you will need about $30,000 after paper work ,taxes etc..get the new 2012 civic.more room ,very silent ..also better value...

  • in my opinion the sedan looks better but is still nice and you dont have to get navigation which is dumb to get you can get a garmin or tomtom for 200

  • @duckbanana12 ... I am renting a Focus sedan, and the first thing I noticed is the trunk opening seems pretty small ... maybe I'm so used to driving a Hatch ... but that $ 500 is well worth it for practicality ...

  • -$500 for a better looking focus, -$795 if you know how to use a map, -$695 if you know how to drive. theres $1990 you just saved.

  • @AGreedyTree The sedan is not better looking.

  • @AGreedyTree you have me sold.

  • @AGreedy The the hatch is a much better looking vehicle

  • @AGreedyTree I personally prefer the sedan, but the hatch is a long time sportier vehicle to some people. Also more aerodynamic if you ask some people.

  • @califa213239 Sedans are more aerodynamic then hatchbacks, that is a fact. However, many people, especially Europeans, like me, prefer hatchbacks. They are sportier.

  • @AGreedyTree SOO REAL.... Sedan is so much SEXIER

  • love it. second focus i've owned.

  • how tall are u

  • @Davegpmoto21 i looked at your channel. you are a ford hater and obviously cant accept they made a very good car here. Im not going to argue with you

  • @carguy379 i hear this car has tons of problems

  • @Lenrom12 Oh really, like? Yes the auto transmission is shit, but thats why you get the 5 speed

  • @Davegpmoto21 are you just completely retarded? this is the best compact car on the market right now.

  • @Davegpmoto21 how the hell is this a piece of shit?

  • @Davegpmoto21 negative

  • Very good review, and mostly positive as well. Good job, Ford.

  • Ford/Microsoft should let their next generation consoles to allow the Smartphone to provide the navigation system. That would be pretty dam slick.

  • Awesome looking machine from side on.

  • I got a chance to test drive the new focus se and i liked it not too big on the front bumper though its distracting and not pleasing to the eye. Can u say body kit.I also like the new civic and the mazda 3 both nice the chevy cruze was a good value and looked upscale on the inside but a lil pricey for the upgrades .I think the hyundai elantra is sharp it has the most character it all depends on what you want cant wait for cr reviews ...

  • I actually have had bad luck with a few other cars i bought a kia sephia in 98 that not only broke down but i ended up saying fu87 it and let it get repoed .And i still have a 2000 chevy impala base in my front yard that i love that has a few issues but nothing major it all depends on how you take care of your ride ay 3000 miles i change the oil at 60000 i change plugs and wires i keep them covered when not driven and take em for maintenance when necessary i detail on the side .

  • @Davegpmoto21 WTF Do you not have a life? You worthless piece of shit. Are your kids as retarded as you are?

  • I am going to buy that car purely for the wipers. 6:00

  • i tink the sync is a great system... im sorry you aren't able to operate such a simple system, but dont blame ford....

  • i own three focus models a 2004 a 2008 se and an 07 se i owned a hyundai scoupe at 50000 miles the transmission began to shift erratically the sunroof stopped in the middle and the car was in the shop for many many reasons i traded for my first 04 focus and was so surprised with the way i was treated by ford they actually know me by name and treat my family so well couldnt say the same for hyundai i have never had a problem with any of them except a bad fuel pump on my 07 warranty covered ...

  • @crazygary69 Loser find a more productive thing to do instead of laughing at a man in a restaurant. Pathetic. Your Channel is full of stupid videos....just like you. LOL

  • @crazygary69 I was wrong but still worse is filming a fat guy in a restaurant...faggot. U have no better things to do??? loser hahahahaha!!!

  • @crazygary69 yeah chance of subjects still the fact that Focus is a cheap slow car doesn't change... LOL

  • @crazygary69 hahahaha and the Genesis coupe would rape that cheap shit Focus...Focus a joke of a car.

  • @Johndoe9278 well the genesis looks like a piece of raped shit!

  • @ACDC185 :) sure...

  • @crazygary69 yeah the Veloster lacks few HP...but for sure the Genesis coupe would rape that cheap focus. LOL u lost! :)

  • @crazygary69 that car starts at 19k, more power, more looks etc...that proves my point. The Velosper would rape any focus any day, so u are the one that has to learn.

  • Hyundai Veloster would rape this car.

  • the stuff youre complaining about makes you sound like a .....

  • lol congratz on ruining the previous awesome design

  • Sync doesn't seem to be that bad

  • I finally test drove one and you seriousely cannot appreciate how very slick this car is until you are behind the wheel. On a side note the Sync in my test drive car worked great he is just being nitpicky.

  • Good review!

  • the stuff he's complainin about is completely little bullshit stuff.. the car is fully loaded for 24K max... im prob gonna get one on the cheap just for better gas mileage... props to Ford

  • Auto parking is best used for large cars with poor visibility. It seems pointless in such a small car unless you really suck at parking.

  • Fantastic review, love you attitude bet the hell outa motortrend and caranddriver reviews.

  • Man those windshield wipers are weird 6:00

  • This guy is way too taken with the sound of his own voice.

  • Great video and great review I like the 5 door layout on pretty much all that have them , I'm 45 and American. Whaaat!? Should've had this version 3-4 years ago.

  • HAHAHA, voice command system FAIL!!

  • they copied lexus with the self park thing

  • @macbookpro57 are u fucking serious... alot of brands have that shit already.

  • @macbookpro57

they may have copied Lexus, but the Ford system is quicker and easier to use.

  • it parks on the left if you put your turn signal to the left. At least thats how it is on my escape. pretty sure its the same.

  • great review

  • I really dont like where car generation is going..they are focused on the computer systemS inside the car less about the loloks and performance..

  • Thumbs up if you couldn't focus.

  • Great review cnet well done!

  • hopefully they made this have an upgradable firmware =D

  • Looks like a nice offering.

(On an aside, if you need Parking Assist, you have no place being behind the wheel of anything)
