to text and dial numbers you use the circular spinning wheel thing its kind of like the kind on an IPOD nano and such and there's no key pad but there's a section where you go and type the numbers and there is also a section where you go and text and stuff, but if you text alot and dial alot of people's number this phone is not for you.
