Oh man! You're just amazing. Is guitar some sort of hobbie for you like you're a lawyer or something and kept playing after your teenyears? I want that for myself too! Great playing!
yes, i maintained it as a hobby for several years. now i'm a private guitar instructor at a local lessons studio, and i honestly don't play much outside of work (unfortunately).
man this is great playing, I can't quite get this mode down that well...It's like I'm too conditioned playing either major or aeolean.
What resources have you learned to practice dorian. It seems like you have a sweet dominant lick for the theme of the song...also really fast cool stuff. Let me know if you have any ideas on how to learn this better, eg. backing tracks, articles...etc.
the only specific resources i've really used are frank gambale's. other than that, i just wrote myself a backing track and then spent hours on end with it--trial and error style.
i appreciate the encouragement. as the attage goes, i'm my own worst critic--when i hear these, i just realize that by every 5th or 6th phrase i just end up basically repeating myself. i need to work on implementing more sweeping into my improv i think.
I use to feel the same way about repeating my licks.. I even heard Eric Claptop speak about it. So dont worry its a common feeling I think. Keep up the great work, you sound great. Think of the notes as words and the solo is a story. Stories have words and sometimes even phrases that repeat.

Ibanez Jam 10th anniversary model. A fantastic guitar, but in the end, not worth what i paid for it.

Nice man! I love it, I try this kind of things but I can only make some solo's with the Pentatonic scale. Don't understand the other scales....
Keep going!
