Testing before sex is a way to keep some sex from happening, and, consequently, prevent an STD. Post sex STD tests don't do that. What has changed? Seriously, in the 27 years of AIDS, a generational gap really, condoms have once again become under-utilized and downplayed. This is no help due to antiretrovirals either, mind you. I think a story on the past is great, but what about the now? The future of AIDS?
I KNOW WHO RICHARD BERKOWITZ IS!!! I just saw this film at the seattle lesbian and gay film festival while at the gay mens health summit. I literally walked out of the film with goose bumps! and getting to meet Richard after the film was just icing on the cake! Way to go Richard!
I saw this film at the Edmonton Film Festival last week and just wanted to say how much I enjoyed it. It was informative, funny, shocking and very touching. I would definately seeing this film!
I saw this film at NEWFEST last week, and all I can say is WOW! It's sexy, funny and harrowing! I did a search to see what the local press had written about it, and I found nothing! After viewing this film, I realized that much of the story and the major players in the movement had been written out of history. If this thought provoking documentary doesn't find an audience, the world, and the gay community, in particular, will be poorer for it. Bravo DARYL WEIN! Bravo RICHARD BERKOWITZ.
i saw this film at the boston IFF today. i believe it to be an incredibly important pioneering step in finally documenting a history of the early responses of the AIDS epidemic. we have so much to learn from this in the present day. i thank you for teaching me about richard berkowitz with all of my heart.
