  • @dirtyshortsPU

there's only like 3/4 chords in the original? E, A,B

  • @hiddeninromance C#m thrown in there, along with the key change on the bridge right before the walk down and "1, 2, 3, 4"

  • @dirtyshortsPU

Why don´t you post your epic songs so we can comment on them...? Sucker

  • @dirtyshortsPU

and there's more talent in those three chords than anywhere else in the world...

  • @dirtyshortsPU he wrote so he can play whatever way he wants and it will still be awesome

  • When he sang the line '...and we''ll walk in the sun', the sun came out and shone through the window, even the weather can't resist the beauty of this song. <3 I literally cried the first time I heard it acoustic, it's so emotive and powerful.

  • A true test of any song, does it sound good when done as an acoustic? Yes!

  • how do 13 ppl not like this...wow...well I look at it like this...Jesus was perfect and even he couldn't please everyone...look what they did to him. Great Job Boss!

  • This. Is. Beautiful.

  • stud

  • I have his autographe tatued on myleg. The most beatutyful part of my body, I tell you :-)

  • This is my favorite song. The first time I heard the acoustic version on the radio I didn't really like it, but it's grown on me.

  • reminds me of neil young with the harmonica haha

  • Bruce.... I love you, buddy..... Once again, you are helping me through pretty rough times...

  • We've been on this planet for 200,000 years. Only recently did we learn to rock and roll.

"It's better to burn out than to to fade away,"

    Said Neil Young! Indeed.

  • i love this.

  • Just love it!!!

  • bruce...incredibly gifted.....amazing talent, just amazing.....

  • kick azz.......flat out

  • The intro was very sentimental. He talks about his first tour in California in the late 60s. The tour did not end and he was broke. He called his mother on the telephone '... and she said those magic words: "You can always come home"'. And then he started playing the song. I saw it complete in a DVD bootleg.

  • id rather listen to the main version, but i can see how he would want to show people the different takes on the same song... their all inspiring so anyway he wants too will still be great. rock on bruce!

  • Brucheeeeeeeeee!!!!!

How miserable will be our life without his music? I cannot think about it!!

  • this one of the saddest songs ever written but at the same time its one of the most inspirational - like the death of a hero

  • Nobody beats the boss!

  • One of the workingclass heroe's, one of the best..politicians should bow before him.

  • I love how this song can be like dynamite and very intimite as well.

  • UK SPRINGSTEEN FANS.

Help us get Born To Run to the Number 1 spot on the Uk Charts on the 27th June by buying the song from the Greatest Hits album on Itunes between 23rd and 26th June and help celebrate Born To Run's 35th anniversary with the first UK number 1 for the Boss!

Search on Facebook for the group. Look for Make Born To Run Uk Number 1.

  • THAT MAN! *-*

  • bruchee is a majestro camera man !!! ^^ brings all the bruce rareness to us thanlk you !!

  • Thank you. Its great and raw.

  • the greatest song ever written.

thankyou bruce springsteen for 25 years of pure inspiration,my life wouldn't be the same without you

  • @dukestreetking44 / on his DVD anthology, it says this song has kept him company over the years, and he hopes it has done the same for us. This is my all time favorite song. No matter whats going wrong, how mad, or depressed, get in my car and turn it as loud as the speakers can handle, sing it at the top of my lungs word for word ==== best therapy anyone could have.

  • My dog is named after Bruce, and this song: Born to run ''Boss''. Awesome song.

  • Bruce and Boss were names I wanted to name our dog, the other 5 wanted Stanley.

  • What chords is he playing? It seems like a G and maybe a C (?) with and E during chorus. Any opinions? I can't play guitar so good and I'm looking for easy to play chords and the Boss seems to have nailed it.

  • G to C, majors to D where its not a major put you are putting your middle finger on second fret G string, index finger on first fret B string, open E string... thats the verses... on the pre-chorus it is Cmaj, then pinky finger third fret B string, index finger second fret A string while strumming just the A/D/G/B strings, do the same thing for the next chord which is the same one except the A string is open... hang on, running out of characters... to be continued

  • during the opening harp part, he is playing basic G to C and that opened up partial D I explained earlier... the second time around instead of that D, he simply keeps his fingering with the C and slides up two frets to create a quasi-D... now, to contiune from where I left off... the next chord after the open A string chord in the pre-chorus sequence is another of those D chords... after he says "born To Run" he goes G C and that D, just like the top...

  • Honestly... I would continue but this version is horrible, I hate it. basically the bridge is just F to C, boring as fuck. If you ant to know a beginning guitar way to play the album version let me know and Ill give you a hand, or I can show the whole thing, complications at all if you want. Just please let me stop listening to this because Im not a Bruce fan much, especially when he sounds like this LOL. Hope I was helpful for you, keep playing!

  • @Wamz1978 Can anyone say Wanker??? Fuck you ya prick No one in the world compares to The Boss

  • @CottonEyedJoe1803 what is he, your fucking dad or something? fellow wanted to know what he was playing so I told him... doesnt mean I have to like the fucking rendition... get fucked, you fucking abortion

  • @Wamz1978 Yes he's clearly my dad. And I'm an abortion funny youd think I wouldnt have been born you dirty Feck Wanker

  • @CottonEyedJoe1803 Oh no, "Dirty Feck Wanker" ... hang on, It's going to take me a little while to bounce back from that devastating insult... shit, you really got me good, right in the soul... get yourself a length of rope, a good sturdy cross beam and a little stool to stand on, then put them to use in a manner that will best help the rest of the world. Thanks!

  • @Wamz1978 By horse whippin your oul one??? Stop soiling a Bruce Springsteen video you sad little man. If thats your year of birth in your username I'm not even gonna bother myself with someone who still lives in his mas gaf fighting with teenagers all day you Shmuck

  • @CottonEyedJoe1803 And you were born in 1803, I take it?... Oh no, my self-esteem has been sliced neatly in half by the word "Schmuck" and an assortment of northern U.K. or possibly native Irish gibberish that makes sense to approximately 30 people worldwide... Squire, your wife, is she a goer, eh? She likes sport, eh? ... nod is as good as a wink to a bloind bat, I say... "elp, 'elp, me 'ouse is on fire" says cottoneyedjoe

  • @Wamz1978 No Sphincter boy I was born on 18th March. And yes I am Irish but shmuck is a derogatory term used in America so thats quite irrelevant. And yes I'm from Monthy Pythons And Now For Something Completely Different. Plus I still think its sad that youre spending your time argueing online with a teenager

  • @CottonEyedJoe1803 LOL, Sphincter Boy, do you have a whole book of archaic insults written by Henny Youngman?... Schmuck was a common American term if you were speaking Yiddish in 1940 in Brooklyn, but thats about it... Yes, I'm spending boatloads of time arguing with you, a whole 15 seconds of precious time exhausted... And certainly, when I was a teenager, I did more productive things with my total freedom and lack of responsibility like embarass myself arguing with smarter people, like you do

  • @Wamz1978 I hope by smarter people you're not refering to yourself. Wanking doesnt count pal. FYI I'm not lacking in responsibility and productivity I have a job and I pull nearly €2000 a week. Nice eh??? ;)

  • @CottonEyedJoe1803 I take it your job doesn't involve outsmarting others

  • @CottonEyedJoe1803 I'm not trying to outsmart you

  • @Wamz1978 This is a great rendition of the song and I know how to play all the ways. Not everyone has an orchestra, either. There's fancy albums, and then there is music from the streets. This is the street sound.

  • @sublimeruca27 sorry, I wasnt aware that it was illegal to dislike something by Bruce Springsteen... Fancy albums?? music from the streets?? what, its impossible to play the song with the same chord structure of the album version alone on an acoustic guitar? of course not, its relatively easy... again, for those not paying attention someone asked how to play THIS VERSION of the song and I explained it to him, that does not mean I am obligated to LIKE IT... I was doing the guy a favor

  • The other acoustic version is better then this. :)

  • Love this!

  • Great song!

  • GREAT!

  • I respect the versatility, but I think he compromised the melody too much.

  • the rock versions better but this is good aswell hes just amazing bruce is

  • in a good way or a bad way?

  • Bad way.

I like the rock version much more

  • You mean the version where he plays it with the E Street Band?

  • it's a different version, you can't play full band style with acoustic, he's going for something different, and acoustic like this can put more emphasis on the poetry.

  • Bruce does folk versions of most of his R&R songs. Same words, but totally differnt song.

  • i love bruce but i just think Born to Run isn't supposed to be played like this....

  • mhmm, it's a completely different song isn't it?

  • he wrote it...I think he gets to play it anyway he is inspired to...

  • Yes, clearly Bruce Springsteen is reading the lyrics to Born to Run. Most likely he can't remember them.

  • u are a dumb fuk the boss is a poet you are a waste of sperm

  • Um, he did use a teleprompter. Bruce frequently forgot the words to the song on the "Tunnel Of Love" tour.

  • hey, whatever needs to sound good...

  • Most musicians use music - it's no sin. He uses words, no issue for me.

  • magnifique une pure merveille un pur bonheur , bravo bruce

  • AWESOME Bruce!

  • God I can't seem to figure out the chord progression to this, just a bunch of variations on G?

  • Dude, me too! It looks like a bruce G version that mortals can't understand. I have the feeling we won't find this tablature on earth.

  • This version is really better than the original one! Bruce and his harmonica and guitar are so wonderfull. They make you dream!

    Happy Birthday Bruce!

  • that was b4 born to run album look how young he is

  • no it isnt. Born to Run was 1975 or something.

  • oh yes it is he used to play that song b4 born to run came out he played it alot in new jersey small halls

  • haha xp

  • i'm sure he did, but this was at MSG...in 1987.

  • Halfway right....he used to play it before it came out in 75.....This is 87

  • for ne1 who thinks he's "average" live, don't use this video, its not a fair judgement. its a good listener, but not that "exciting"

for ne1 wanting to see the true springsteen live, search these songs on Youtube

    Rosalita Hammersmith

    Born to Run Hammersmith

    Kitty's Back Hammersmith

Its Hard to be a Sain in the City Hammersmith

Hammersmith is the concert all of these are from, to make sure u guys get a good version ;]. it was a 1975 concert in London and my favorite Springsteen Concert

  • Check out the version posted by 'ctune', its epic. I guess he was nervous in this video.

  • altho i quite like brucie i agree with ne007ne

  • he`s preety average LIVE:(

  • you have obviously never seen him

  • nice acoustic version..

  • very good version but it's losing a bit of it's power. The passion is there but I miss the intro with Max and his drums.

  • The drum intro on the original version was Ernest "Boom" Carter.

  • No words. . so...

  • this is great...but i prefere the original, cos i like the way it sounds...but this is still breath-takin

  • the real version is much better

  • check the other live accoustic version and see what you think....

  • They're both ace. I don't think anything he does, even now with Magic will ever be able to disappoint me.

  • And everytime he proves he is the boss.

  • Part of my youth forever

  • Just Fantastic

  • Does anyone have the tab to this !? i would love to have it !
