I rarely listen to Death Metal unless it's early 90's, which is the reason I appreciate Asphyx as they have more of the old school feeling to them. Not the bullshit you get from Deathcore or bands like Cannibal Corpse.

Insomnium, Amon Amarth, Archeon etc etc. At The Gates and Carcass are the only ones with any merit; otherwise the genre is dull as fuck.
