Stop bashing Nascar. Everyone thinks they can handle Nascar when it's all talk. JUST STFU. I like F1 more but both are respectable sports. Hockey is another story though.
Jeremy Clarkson would be a brilliant f1 commentator. Keep Marty Brundle but get rid of the other muppet, Legard. He is forever making mistakes and biased toward British drivers.
That's the risk you take to be number 1. Too much concern for safety these days and if you get bullied by another driver you back down like a coward..what does that say about the personalities and passions of those who race?
it's not that they're too worried about their hairstyles, the cars are much more sophisticated as well, much more similar, the cars change and the tracks (mostly) stay the same. we need slower cars!
Does anyone knows which program is required to download movies from the F1 FIA official site. I've tried with Realplayer SP Plus, but can not download. Thanks anyone!!!!
does anyone seen a F1 tribute on youtube with the U2 song "city of blinding lights" as the music. It had a lot of classic footage. If anyone knows this video please link me to it in a reply, I haven't been able to find it through searching, thanks!
A NASCAR driver trying to drive a Formula 1 would be funny. Formula 1 demands a lot more from the driver.
What can you say about drivers like Ayrton Senna, Jim Clark, Fangio, Niki Lauda, Nigel Mansell and so many others? Those(among others like Prost, Nelson Piquet, Fittipaldi, Schumacher, etc) were real drivers.
Let's see USF1 next year, and their american driver having his ass kicked by Alonso, Massa, Kubica, Vettel, Hamilton and hopefully Kobayashi. :)
I didn't think USF1 would have an american driver the first year? well it's good to have more countries represented with a larger grid! I was very impressed with Kobayashi so far.
I was VERY impressed too!! He did more in 2 races than most of the drivers did. Hope to see him racing next year.
Well, as far as I know USF1 is not 100% confirmed(though they say it), because they did not show anything until now. I heard they have an american driver for the team. The idea is to make americans more interested in F1. The problem is that most americans are not interested on sports that they are not good, as football(or soccer, as they say).
I am from the US and I am a big fan of F1. But I think there are a couple reasons its not popular here.
1. No US drivers
2. No race in the US
3. That travesty of a race in Indianapolis a few years ago where more than half of the grid didn't race because of the bad tires.
I personally don't mind where people are from, I am more interested in the attitude they present. I see you are from Brazil , Massa is a favorite driver of mine, shame about that accident, I'm hoping for comeback next year!
The stewards decision with the rear diffuser was counter productive to what the "overtaking group" came up with for tech regs (encouraging mechanical over aerodynamic downforce). Also the KERS system backfired in that regard too, alot of drivers where using it defensively instead of using it to pass. If they fix those two things I think it will be great racing!
I live here in the U.S. and I think NASCAR sucks big ones. I would always watch F1, not so much anymore, and I am like WOW. Just the science behind F1 cars is amazing. There is more skill required for F1 than NASCAR hands down.
@Smirnova1988 well, Complexity of cars depends a lot of the brains behind... If you ask an european to make a sports car he'll probably make something like a ferrari, aston martin, zenvo and so forth... however, if you ask an American to do a sports car, chances are he'll make something like a big metal box called mustang and all the rest of americans will adore it!. Same principle applies for racing, though! :D
Too bad we don't have F1 any more here in the United States Kart is now the closest thing we have which isnt bad but definitely is not the same as F1. I can say this because i am American but what a country of Simple minded imbeciles to think that Nascar is more entertaining than F1 in my opinion despite it's popularity Nascar will always be sub par in comparison to F1. Kudos by the way to the British and Australians for keeping the sport alive.

I went to a Nascar event and it was incredibly boring and loud. Why on earth do I want to sit and watch 300 laps of the same thing

they bang 3 times and both cars are fine mechanically? is the current f1 cars more fragile or they are just pussy now?

At the same time though, it was driving like this that eventually got Gilles killed.

When they do overtake they get penalised by the stewards and whined at by other driver, look at the treatment Lewis Hamilton is getting.
