I made a mix CD for a girl I know who was going through a hard time a few months ago, it really struck a chord with her and she felt it described fully the things going on inside her head and the problems she was having. Subsequently I fell in love with everything she is, now she's still going through problems and I can't see her too often and we're losing touch, I listen to this song because it reminds me of her and she makes me feel like i've finally found what i'd call home.

Dave Grohl is such a prolific songwriter; he can go from hard rocking songs like "Monkey Wrench" to a beautiful, sad song like "Home." I think it's refrain, "All I want is to be home" strikes a chord with all of us who feel as though we drifted from some ideal situation of our past, one to which we can never return. It helps just to hear a song that expresses those feelings of longing.
