GTO's may not be slow but they are without a doubt a HUGE FLOP. The LS2's potential is just ruined by a horrible chassis and rear end. No I'm not a Ford guy so don't go there. I just realize the GTO is way overrated and should've had a better chassis to house such great motors. Terminators are amazing Mustangs though.

I gotta 5.7 A4 Gto. With 373 gears. Chipped, exhaust and tuned and I pass ls2s . I got about 370rwhp . . And I haven't lost to a light modded cobra yet.

i think its so funny when people bitch about ford using a supercharger....its not our fault chevy dont use them, but its in all reality a supercharger is the better choice i got a buddy with a 6,0 gto with stage 3 heads and moderate cam, intake, and full exhaust, and he put down 416rwhp and with the 75shot he made 478rwhp and so total he has paid a little more than 40k for the car plus all the parts and i paid 38k for my shelby gt500 and he could beat me when i was stock..see next post

Mod for mod, a higher displacement engine is always going to put out more power than the smaller engine. Us N/A car owners shouldn't complain about the supercharger.And those who have it shouldn't bitch about us having a bigger engine. If I slapped a maggie or a TT set-up on my GTO today, I'd be pushing out 600 horse easily with very low boost. Just a matter of having more money than the next guy. We all win some and we all lose some =D
sure, but that cobra was designed with that supercharger from factory, running 8.5:1 compression. its not slapped on a higer compression motor like your GTO. So in all fairness if you put a supercharger/TT setup on your GTO you would have to up the compression of the cobra. but either way, it all costs money like you said.

the 03 and 04 cobra's r faster than the stock ls2 gto but stock vs stock not alot..0 to 60 cobra in 4.7sc and the gto 4.7 to 1/4mile cobra 12.7sc and the gto 13.0sc.cobra is 3600lb and gto 3750lb,390hp cobra vs 400hp gto, $24k for the gto and $29k for the cobra..
Actually with a decent driver the stock 03-04 Cobra will run 12.50s and I have seen a stock one run a 12.30 at Atlanta Dragway. But GTO is a nice car just too much weight to compete with Cobra.

I have a 05 gto and ill admit cobras are faster stock for stock and the reason is because 03-04 cobras don't have 390hp at the flywheel its more like 430, stock they dyno around 375 rwhp and 05/06 gtos dyno around 345 so its not apples for apples, throw longtubes on a gto to bring it up to 430hp and then its a drivers race

Well when you push the gas it kicks down and you drop gears like that too. Also a 95 cobra is a pushrod motor unlike the 32v in the 96 and up COBRAS. Not hard to spank older COBRAS.
It has 3.90 gears a new cluch MSD coil packs and drag radials. Thats it. I smoke my neghbors 6.0 six speed GTo every time. From a dig and at any cruising speed. And I don't want to here it's the driver. He is a instructer at Bob Bondurant's school of driveing. Go lay down and quit stalking me.
If you are talking about 98 and below I will agree with you. As for the 99-01 Cobra they ran 13.30s while the 03-04 Cobras ran 12.50s. The new Shelby is an embarrassment to the Cobra name.

NON SUPERCHARGED COBRA`S are 300 to 320 hp . the s/charged 03 is supposed to be 390 horse . need to go back to hod mag a few years look at the 360 horse lightning vs 405 vette . the lightning had lunch of vette . both brand new . they were going to do another the next year with a 385 horse lightning but did not . scared that lightning would skin another vette . gto with gm corporate chevy style engine . Dude a lightning cant not run a 12.4 thats the 1/4 specs of a z06 with 405 hp. lightning fastest time was recorded at a 13.8 out from the factory and thats the 385 hp lightning. i dont listen to what people put only tested manufactuered specs with both cars having a professional driver. the 32v v8 makes 320hp at the wheels and its n/a, but think about it, its only a 4.6 and makes 320hp and the gto is a 6.0 and only makes 400, thats over a liter bigger and its still getting beat, the cobra has the supercharger and its only 390hp so that 10 less than your beloved gto

Mod for mod, a higher displacement engine is always going to put out more power than the smaller engine. Us N/A car owners shouldn't complain about the supercharger.And those who have it shouldn't bitch about us having a bigger engine. If I slapped a maggie or a TT set-up on my GTO today, I'd be pushing out 600 horse easily with very low boost. Just a matter of having more money than the next guy. sure, but that cobra was designed with that supercharger from factory, running 8.5:1 compression. its not slapped on a higer compression motor like your GTO. So in all fairness if you put a supercharger/TT setup on your GTO you would have to up the compression of the cobra. but either way, it all costs money like you said.

I have a 05 gto and ill admit cobras are faster stock for stock and the reason is because 03-04 cobras don't have 390hp at the flywheel its more like 430, stock they dyno around 375 rwhp and 05/06 gtos dyno around 345 so its not apples for apples, throw longtubes on a gto to bring it up to 430hp and then its a drivers race

My stock 97 cobra N/A with 109,000 miles on it still spanks gto,s. Even a six speed gto. and the gto has 100cui on it So go lay down.

Well when you push the gas it kicks down and you drop gears like that too. Also a 95 cobra is a pushrod motor unlike the 32v in the 96 and up COBRAS. Not hard to spank older COBRAS.

It has 3.90 gears a new cluch MSD coil packs and drag radials. Thats it. I smoke my neghbors 6.0 six speed GTo every time. From a dig and at any cruising speed. And I don't want to here it's the driver. He is a instructer at Bob Bondurant's school of driveing. Go lay down and quit stalking me.

If you are talking about 98 and below I will agree with you. As for the 99-01 Cobra they ran 13.30s while the 03-04 Cobras ran 12.50s. The new Shelby is an embarrassment to the Cobra name.
