Regardless of whether it's considered "dark" or "depressing", all kids should get to know these truths. I congratulate your grandfather for having the guts to write such a beautiful song, and it is a great injustice that it was banned by brainless censor fools.

It is a beautiful poem, however not for a song on a children's show. Bring it to the attention of a school that trains persons who take care of elderly people, since it does touch the heart, bitter sweetly.

You grandfather wrote a poem that would be beneficial to nurses in training.

I agree that this is somewhat of a "Hippie Topic," but it is, overall, a nice message. A little bit too heavy for children (it's sort of obvious why it was banned) but none the less these videos are a sort of lost treasure, I think.

This video clip is from Sesame Street for sure. The children are singing the song "We All Sing With The Same Voice (My Name Is You)" which you can find easily on YouTube. The lyrics of the song reference pop-culture of the 80s, so--my guess is it wasn't written in the late 60s. What gives?

Btw jimjeroo, did you write this song? The video is kind of creepy but certainly interesting.

Great footage, but the singer's accent would make this difficult to follow without a lyric sheet. Even if some of the lines are a bit grim for Sesame Street, that alone would get the song pulled. Still, the footage and the message go together well: four stars!
