  • No kidding. I can eat AT LEAST 10 Oranges a day, easily.

    Probably more and more...

  • @ozboybrian - But they're Jam packed full of Natural Sugar to right?... I heard Fruit is great but you can over do it to.. :S

  • Thank you for this video.I have THE food addiction and it's really hard to control it. your video helped me a bit.thanks

  • The...Not my......O... I never thought of it that way.thanks :)

Dan I don't like some vege's but when I change the texture of that vege it's not not bad. Y does food taste different if u bite it raw or blend or chop it up? A mother on t.v. once said that she puts the same vege twice on a plate in 2 different forms blend or chop or whatever,So her kids will at least try it & my like if?

  • What up Jesus!

  • this helped, thanks bro! =)

  • EXACTLY!!!!! a statement I heard one time was, "argue for your limitations long enough and SURE ENOUGH they are yours!!!" haha

  • I have had all the help you can think of, my Dr doesn't know what else to do for me, this addiction is gonna kill me, can't cope any more :0(

  • @mariamaria555 and isn't that what we secretly want?

  • I have the opposite situation of the fellow your addressing this video to. I don't much care for eating, it's nothing more than an inconvenience to me. I eat because I have to. I'm not saying that I don't enjoy the taste of food at times. I will say that eating healthier makes it more enjoyable. And if I got a divorce, I would be much happier not depressed! I know this because we already went thru a separation and I was much happier then. Peace!

  • good stuff.

  • I didn't think about that before. Thank you for that!

  • you are awesome! its fun to watch you! we all have our addictions...even emotional addictons......have you watched- what the bleep do we know? is amazing:)

  • I'm not sure if you've answered this in another video, but what is your recommendation regarding mixing fruits with other foods. I have heard many times that fruit should be eaten on its own, but I have never hear the reasoning behind this. I personally love mixing fruits into salads and juices, but I am trying to be more conscious of eating fruits on their own. I'd be interested in hearing your take on this matter. Thank you, I really enjoy your videos.

  • @cashola1000 What I've heard about that issue is that if you eat fruits after a meal, it will sit on top of the food in your stomach and ferment and putrefy. Because fruits are mostly water (90%) and fiber, it stays only about 30 minutes in the stomach (fiber are digested in the large intestine). So if you eat a meal before eating a fruit, you basically "force" the fruit to stay longer in the stomach.

  • Im juicing because of you, rock on Dan

  • 5 bananas for breakfast?...

    That's about 500 calories and 100+g of sugar. /=

  • But it's fruit and gives you energy to last throughout the day. If you're raw vegan, those calories you get from a bananafest doesn't mean anything but getting you the energy your body uses best. If you weigh it down with 4 slices of bread at lunch with peanut butter (or what have you), a snack in between and a big supper. Then the weight will pack on. Plus the sugar in bananas is easily broken down by the body. Not like the refined sugars you find in stores :).

  • @Ka0siify oh shush! on the raw food diet it is AWESOME, because you don't have to worry about calories or sugars!

  • Love you Dan, keep being Joyfull

  • I think I'm addicted to the sugar problem, cause I crave it sometimes.. when I eat it I binge! I'm not obese or anything, but it feels so good, yet soo wrong .. afterwards... nasty

  • A good transition from a sugar addiction that work for me, was no matter what sugar I was craving, I would eat 72% dark chocolate. At first I would eat as much as I wanted. Nearly a whole bar, then I naturally worked down to half a bar, and I wouldn't fluctuate depending on what my body "needed" that day. After while(I am talking over 8 months, haha) I was down to only 1/4 chocolate bar, and sometimes 1/3- then eventually one square would send me to bliss. The key is, feel every bite. Savor.

  • This talk impacted me so profoundly. Love.

  • Real talk. I've subscribed to this channel. I really appreciate your positive insight.

  • Dan you are a great guy, you have a very caring and generous heart. The world needs more people like you.

  • To the guy who is challenged with "the food addiction." Try going to an Overeaters Anonymous phone meeting while eating really green - green juices like you create on the vids, green algae, wheatgrass (maybe later on). What I found is that the cravings went away IMMEDIATELY!!!! I am talking day 2! And I had serious issues. I also use the phone meetings for extra community support. You don't have to go 100% juice or raw. Try 50%, 50%. You will see.

  • this is such great advice, thank you so SO much!

  • ha you crack me up when you laugh just wanted to tell you thanks for all the videos

  • Hey Dan, love the videos. Wanted to ask for recipes with flax seeds, nuts and oils. You recommend them but I have not seen any videos with recipes that include them.

Looking forward to them. Keep up the great work..

  • Fantastic video! I really enjoy your enthusiasm!

  • every mornin' i juice carrots n its my own personal thang that makes me feel like im giving my body pure bliss!!!!! dan i dig ya.. im n love over here!

  • Great stuff Dan. Thanks.

  • good on you dan.. brilliant vid! i love how you remind others of the positive talk & spirituality involved in THE journey..

    ~Peace 2u~

  • I have enjoyed your videos and am employing some of your principles into my lifestyle, Have a question What is it with onions & Garlic? When i eat them i get so sleepy my heart races and i have to take a power nap to get over it. I know in Hundi cultures they reframe from onions & garlic in diet. do you know anything about this that you can pass along? i am 100# overweight & 57 It is my hope to have this weight gone by 2011 . thank you for sharing your journey, Love and Light, Fancydnails

  • It "heats" up the blood and increases the strength of the wind channel related to desire. It helps monastics maintain celibacy.

  • **refraining from onions and garlics helps monastics maintain celibacy.

  • I would love to talk more on this if you are willing to share. Still why does it effect me so when I eat these things?

  • @fancydnails Keep it up man! You WILL be healthier by 2011! Yeah!

  • How does garlic and onion conflict with spiritual energy ?

  • Merry Christmas Dan.

  • Thanks Buddy! I hope this will be THE BEST YEAR EVER! lol :D

  • ur 39 yeah right !, ur 1 year older than my ex and u look 20 years younger than him, u look effin 25 max , damn Dan u got it goin on no doubt . ones again thank u 4 ur vids

  • I'm actually 35 posh

  • Awesome topic!!! Thank you Dan! <3

  • Thank you Dan! I so needed to hear this right now! :-)

  • Very well put. Glad to see someone preach about the negative health dangers of fast food. That food is more detrimental to ones health than some street drugs are. I quit eating fast food junk years ago. If I was to try to force some fast food down, I would not be able to keep it down. If fast food was the only food on earth, we would all starve to our death.

  • Once again, I feel like every time I have an obstacle, you make a video about it that helps me pull through. You obviously show some experience because you put into words what I'm trying to figure out about my raw food journey. Thanks again. You rock man!

    Peace,

    Amanda, Tampa Fl.

  • Dan, why you say that garlic is wrong?

Garlic is so powerful healing natural herb :)

  • Great video (like usual) Jethro Kloss was ahead of his time, he had said to eat oranges to lose weight. I did that years ago, and it does work!

  • it's true, psychology is the best medicine. Especially if you are aware of it and are preaching based on truth.

  • I had a mandarin meditation today. Each one was totally different and sweet and amazing...thankx for the wonderful encouragement...om shanti~!

  • Dan and Krista

    merry raw time christmas

peace to all the animals not killed for our celebrations.

a trillion thanks from all your you tube

viewers for the amazing journey you have taken us on this year.

every cell in the body tingles with anticipation for the 2010 ride into regeneration with Dan the man with da Master plan.

YAHOO PEACE Brother n ' sister........

    yea! live trees forever

  • I think that you can't change what you don`t own. So saying it's not MINE addiction doesn't sound good, to me.

taking 100% responsibility while saying it is what it is and owning it, then you can change it.

  • @Luciek69 everyone used psychology in their own unique way to help themselves. You just have to find w/e works for you and use it to help yourself -- whether it be YOUR problem or THE problem

  • Awesome video, perfect timing :-)

  • its better not to use names, its only a tickling of the ego anyway : )

  • Beautifully delivered! Most of us are vertical coffins, no awareness. I got a lot from this video. Thanks a ton.

  • How's Dave doin' Dan? You guys have to do a video soon!

  • Glad your on a vid marathon Dan. This one really lit some light bulbs for me. I can dig it.

  • I just saw a lovely little video about a lady who's been carrying around a cheeseburger and fries from McDonald's for four years and they haven't rotted yet.

Another guy on YouTube is now doing an experiment with Wendy's and BK to see if the same thing will happen. Gross.

That was a wake-up call. What the heck is it doing in our bodies?

A little off-topic, but kind of not.

  • @tygersflowerz Have you got the link to that? It's not possible.

    thanks

  • @Luciek69 -

    /watch?v=sCv6AqcH1bc

You just have to type in the YouTube address before that.

I've heard similar stories. I heard a story a long time ago, about a guy who put a McDonald's burger in his jacket pocket, forgot about it, then when he finally took it out a year later, there it was hardened but not rotted at all.

  • @tygersflowerz lol, ye even the microorganism and bacteria don't want any of that shit, pardon my language but that's exactly what it is, except even worse.

  • I like the sea salt too. The body needs salt to retain water as long as it's not over done. A little bit of salt and a whole lot of water will keep you hydrated for a great workout!

  • Not to mention, think how cool it is to eat food that's not in a box branded by some profit hungry corporation, only a small sticker with the logo from a small organic farm that produces foods with integrity.

  • Great vid...you explain in a easy to understand way that everyone can understand...let go of attachments...awesome !

  • It really was. It didnt get as indepth as I would of liked but I think its a great start.

  • D-man, I am really sorry to see one of my stalkers (tropicalrainstorm ) has followed me here (probably because I clicked favorite to this food video) has come here to harass me in your public thread. This person has been blocked from my account & the only way to get their negative energy out is to follow me places. I'm very sorry it had to happen here and hope the comments are removed or not taken seriously. I understand they are displacing their own demons & don't take anything said seriously.

  • Being mindfull instead of mindless is great advice. To sit and be aware and appreciate the nourishment before us is sometimes overlooked in our haste. Like the idea of sitting down to one food and taking in thee smells, colors, and unique taste which that one food provides. If that doesn't make you gratefull! A divine experience Dan! ~Peace~

  • Great Advice!!!

  • FYI - You're keeping me on track. The junk food addiction is a real and literal thing. FIGHT BROTHER FIGHT

  • Excellent advice about eating one fruit all day, even for a few days. I did that with watermelon (which I LOVE) and I haven't been able to replace the satisfaction I obtained from that with anything since - not chocolate, not anything. Yes, some things taste better than watermelon like chocolate, but the way I feel after eating a lot of anything manmade doesn't compare to how I felt on watermelon so now my body has learned to desire something it can only obtain from natural foods.

  • Hey Dan, watch Food, Inc. It talks alot about what goes into our food and how its controlled. Might help a few people if they can watch it.

  • hi Dan the Man may you give me your advice :) i recently became a raw foodist what do you when you feel a carb craving?

doesn't your body feel like you need bread & rice etc, whats your alteritive? thank you!

  • The power odf NOW

  • northern ohio rocks

  • I am not totally raw but i am a vegan Rastawomen and i must say you are my motivation everytime i eat....i think about eating raw and i do try. I am still looking for a balance between exercising and working two jobs. I think i need some raw receipes.

  • This is the truth "It's THE food addiction, not MY or YOUR or HIS or HER food addiction, alright?" Love it!!!!

  • You are fantastic.

  • I love/respect all your videos Dan but this one just might have to be my favorite as it speaks to me deeply. You seriously have this one in the bag... depersonalizing and separating oneself from addiction = key, as does creating new pathways and fruit meditation is always healing too. I never thought of it like everytime I engaged in bingeing/purging I've created another pathway to remain hooked, then I wonder why I still deal with a hot mess of bulimia/extreme food addiction. What a wake up!!!

  • So it all boils down the the kniddy griddy... when one engages in detrimental addictive thinking and behaviors, they are basically welcoming it into their home - aka their mind and body - It's like placing a big welcome mat at the door and opening it with arms wide open. And YES people do become attached to these addictions no matter what the drug of choice is. Addiction is addiction, bottom line. Great tips for remaining PRESENT Dan. ps. I have been wondering, when is your birthday? sign?

  • sorry for double post but i need to: get that metabolisms up which is done with what dan the man here is saying and if you do squats and run just a little your body procces food faster so you can eat more and your body is using it more effectively becaue your legs are a big muscle and easy to make them bigger. anyways good luck to you my brother

ps. DAN YOU ROCK keep errrrrr up

  • who ever this is for man i believe in you and believe me when you get through the first hurdle man its gunna feel great this goes for everone it feels good to see your changing you life change stimulates your life and keeps you intrested like i get out and jog and when im done i look at myself and im like yeh i did a good job today not for anyone else but me. also its not about what other people can do or do do its about if you get your sweat and man if you just wana get that old metabolisms up~

  • I haven't had fast food for almost 10 months now. Its literally garbage. I wont feed it to my kids either. Great videos, they have helped me through my weight loss and transition

  • Love it! Awesome! So so so true! thank you.

  • best video, love it love it

    Thank you Dan

  • To be honest :)

Great advice Dan,Love it! makes erfect sense.

I'm having green juices everyday now and just rode 10km's,I'm psyched! back on the healthy path!! Cheers for the inspiration Dan.

I still love my chocolate,so I got a bit of work to do.When I move back to the bush I believe I can do 100% raw.

To much temptation around city type area's.But I intend to get to that place where processed foods sux :)

  • Best of raw , vote for Dan!

  • Dan you're the biggest raw inspiration that is out there. I love you a lot!

What do you think about supplements? B12, vitamin D in the not so sunny regions, iodine? Beneficial? At least in the beginning? How much fat would you recommend? Is it true that in the beginning the raw fats flush out the bad (cooked) fats?

    ***

  • I would love to hear an answer on D3. I am vitamin D deficient, live in northern Ohio which equals ZERO sun in the winter, and D3 is animal sourced. Big dilemma for me right now. Thanks for asking this, Grenbarme!

  • to Grenbarme:

I'm not Dan, can't answer for him. Thought I have this useful info for you ....

If you watch all videos in this channel from the beginning you will hear the answers to all your questions about 10-15 times! Watch first half >100 videos, it's all there. Enjoy.

  • 5 stars. When you say to someone you mostly eat raw food, they often come back with. "I couldn't do that because...." the because usually involves foods that they have become very attached to. They view it as an either this diet or that diet. Folks should realise that as you say if you have a mini raw fest, over time raw becomes the norm and you wonder why you ever cooked food. Cheers.

  • Caseomorphins in milk and dairy.

    Glutenomorphins in wheat.

Sugar., the cocaine of the food world.

  • Dan you rock, keep helping people, uplifting others, and inspiring them. Amazing

  • woo 'mitocondria', sounds hOttt ;) ;)

  • great advice! Also, try to make the food you used to eat have negative associations. That helped me tremendously. I couldn't even eat vegan "meats" because they grossed me out so much after i did research on what animal products can do to the body...

  • yeah but if u don't think about that n watch commercials it taste good.

also if u watch people eat em it looks like they're enjoying it so much

  • Well... tbh here.

I thought about not eating bread anymore cause I watched some of your videos.

I lasted 3 hours and caved in.

  • hahaaha ya weak

    (hey, me too :D)

    what is tbh

    (iydmma)

  • tbh= to be honest
