I was in Lhassa from the 10th to the 14th of March this year and observed from the Jokhang Temple roof the arrests of Tibetan demonstrators for shouting the words "Freedom."

I observed a police state with secret police and Chinese army everywhere. Apparently the Chinese are still very threatened by the Tibetan minority in Tibet!

The only time that Tibet was part of China was during the Yuan and Qing dynasties. Both of these dynasties were not Han Chinese dynasties. Tibet even conquered China's capital during the Tang dynasty. I guess since your state censors the truth, you might not know these things, so I forgive you.

I think you Tibetan in exile just need to be realistic.

The majority of Tibetan want to be part of China. All levels of Tibet government are pro-China supporters like Qingba Punchog. They are the group who actually control Tibet. Therefore, it is no hope for you to make Tibet back to old era when your parents and grandparents were upper class in Tibet.

All west governments are aware about that and none of them denies Tibet is part of China.

During my visit in Tibet few years ago, I found some small little houses at the very bottom of the Potala palace hill (I believe many people have been to there should have noticed those houses). Later I found out those were the houses for the slaves. I was shocked with the fingings, those slaves were actually to serve Dalai Lama and other Lamas (monks) who were living in Potala palace. I have to ask (of course now the Lamas including Dalai Lama don't have any slaves) why Buddhists needed slaves?
