Yet another appalling C64 conversion by US Gold. They didn't manage many decent ones - Ghouls n Ghosts, Turbo Outrun and Forgotten Worlds spring to mind. The 64 wasn't well suited to fighting games. Only Renegade really worked and that was because you had to use the keyboard in conjunction with the joystick i.e. you had more than 1 button to execute your moves (unlike this pile of dung)
I remember loving this on the arcade version and was really excited about getting it for my c64...the disappointment when i first saw this made me almost cry..still tried to complete it though and found it almost impossible :P
@2010Barbon When the guy throws a punch it goes "DOOOOO" and when the other guy hits the floor it goes "DOOOOO DOOOOO" lol. I dont know why they bothered.
truth be told, the C64 was never good at beat-em-up's - Target Renegade was perhaps the best, and then you have a slew of mediocrity in Renegade, Street Fighter, Double Dragon, on and on it goes, but I am sure programmers tried their best.
Just curious by people bashing this game and others on other, weaker/older platforms: But can you program? Do you have training in computer programming theory and practices? Are you a computer scientist or game designer? Are you so arrogant that you can't appreciate and acknowledge what is here and be thankful for that much? No wonder people have negative perceptions of video-gamers in general.
lol at this, even the amiga couldnt do a decent conversion. The best home version of its day was the mega cd. Obviosly nowadays we have mame for emulation.
@bazfanv2 lol... Mega CD is comparable to Capcom's original arcade hardware that's why it does more than perfect job... unlike those Amigas... and others... but I'm anxious to test Speccy version.. it got a nice score in Crash apparently!!!
right, I can now clearly say that this Commodore version is far superior to that Spectrum 128k FLOP.... don't even try it people... what you see here is an excellent AAA+++ fighting game... Spectrum "version" has no playability, you push a button no reaction, extremely slow perhaps running at 2,5 fps and only sometimes... definitely they simply did not bother just threw garbage toghether and said fuck off.... so again C-64 FF is actually a brilliant game
the c64 is capable of so much better as games like mayhem in monsterland, midnight resistance and navy seals proved, they just made no effort with this
@beyondthesevoices hi, i had (and i think i still have somewhere) this game original for my C64 here in italy... and i don't remember where i purchased it
I don't meant to start a fight here, and I never owned a C64 or a CPC, but from the video here on youtube, the CPC version of Final Fight was much better!
I used to have this on my Super NES. As much as I wished the Super NES version was better than it was (no two-player, missing Rolento level, Guy was taken out), I'm thankful I had that.

If you use a Commodore 64 emulator, Download the Simpsons arcade game that was U.S. only. Much better than this shite.

Oh god.
Why they did a conversion of this game on C64.
I mean, what were they thinking. It's horrible.
When the system is not powerful enough to run this type of game, it's simple, do not make a conversion on this system.

i disagree......Mighty Final Fight for the NES shows it's perfectly possible to do a very decent Final Fight game for 8-bit hardware..

Frame rate is a little lower than the arcade version, othere than that this is identical to the arcade.

Not that bad, but you can improve the gameplay and sprites high finish would have a better game.

Certain software house's really should have just let the c64 market die out with dignity around this time.....

Good lord. This looks more like nightmare on clone street than Final Fight.
Guy's jumping kick is simply hillarious.

Yeah it looks much better alright, as do double dragon 1 & 2 on it.
Pity they they didnt try making the screen smaller on the c64 version, and making the characters bigger.
Its the same case for the Street Fighter conversion. ah well.
