  • @STFC010 WHAT! Friends is one of the finest comedy series' ever made!

  • @DigestiveCow In your opinion, but it's not for everyone.

  • This is a comedic master piece. Tommy cooper was one of the greatest men that ever lived. R.I.P to the legend of comedic magic. May he rest well.

  • Tommy Cooper is an absolute legend. Never seen a comedian anything like him.

  • He's got a Bow tie and Fez =3

  • This guy invented comedy the way they perform it today... only Tommy is better

  • Top Top comedy.

  • tommy cooper was the greatest ever, shame he died. stand-up nowadays is puke

  • I'm an American and I GET British humor. I have always given the British credit for being much funnier than Americans, primarily because British comedy is much more intelligent. I agree, Americans do NOT like to think about comedy. As such, they won't get British humor. I love the subtly, intelligence, word-play, and double entendre of British humor. I love The Two Ronnies, Morecombre and Wise, Leonard Rossiter, among others.

  • @hmaltravers As John Cleese said : Spoken Like A Gentleman, Sir! Stuff all the Yank comedies (and other programmes, as well) Make mine Britcoms, m8!

  • Two things: 1. This and the Glass/Bottle sketch are the best. Without doubt! 2. The yanks never get humour, even those in the entertainment business whom claim to know when someone has "it" or not. When Cooper was performing his run in Las Vegas, after his 2nd performance in some casino he was pulled in to the office and told to get his act together because "the same tricks went wrong tonight, as they did last night" Fuckin retards.

  • Actually, I appreciate his humour and I am an American. Got hooked since watching it on Saturday Mornings on ITV3. It's actually quite similar to the US comedian Red Skelton. But I do agree that Americans usually don't get British Humour. Unless if it's Monty Python, Mr. Bean, and Benny Hill. Tommy Cooper was great!

  • R.I.P. tommy cooper. you always were hilarious and you could make anyone smile. if only there were more people like you in this world.

  • that god dumbass americans dont understand this

  • tommy cooper was and is the master of comedy.

if you dont get the humour of tommy cooper, theres no point in watching it,

the man is a national treasure, a true comedy icon

  • Forget about that sad little prick JUST LIKE THAT, and enjoy the video!

  • The "tiptoe back to the stable" gag makes me laugh every time.... Good old Tommy

  • Tommy Cooper was a legend... I don't really understand what wars, empires or Vietnam has to do with it though. Quite frankly this entire conversation seems a bit juvenile and silly - if you want to rant about military history then why not go and discuss it somewhere else. I don't really care whether someone the other side of the World understands my sense of humour or not - that's what makes people / nations different. You don't like it? Get over it!

  • can anyone find any history of brave italian war heroes

  • lol I keep getting email updates about this second rate comedy video my Italian friend showed me, fucking britts, hey are all butt-hurt because there empire was raped by the entire world!

  • @vashonwashington

Are you actually serious. Have you never spent a minute in a history class? You are talking about a country that owned half of the civilised world. Their empire wasnt raped either, it was conceded to the natives because it was TOO BIG TO CONTROL. Not that you could possibly understand that - never having conquered a single country, you fucking child.

  • @keeperofthecheese Didn't we lose the empire after WWII because money kept us ruling but then we skint and lost it all. But then again we got Australia still... Over a third of the world and people slag us off. A third of the world with wooden ships of the Georgian era, so many trade routes they all prospered. Your comments two months old but I had to get something in just Americans aren't taught British history like their crammed with their own.

  • @vashonwashington Your comments dont makes sense, what is your ancestry?

  • @vashonwashington Idiot.

  • One of my fave jokes was when he said "I was out in the street the other day when a bloke came up to me and said "Have you seen a policeman around here, sir?" I said "No, I'ven't." He said "Stick 'em up!"

  • 240p we meet again...

  • SPOON JAR JAR SPOON

  • Always cheers me up. A classic. We gave a statue of him in Caerphilly now. LEGEND.

  • @STFC010 I disagree its such a clee-shay that Americans dont get British humour. So many top american writers have been influenced by British comedy. monty python was the biggest inspiration to southpark. LOOK at the success of the Office over there. . Friends is a funny show, you may not like it but its still very well written and is enjoyed by loads of British people. America has also produced so many classics Seinfeld, Curb, Arreted Developemnent, Mash, I love Lucy.

  • @Syncritiy i watched the american office and it's nothing like the british one

  • American comedy is a quick one line retort, which in the main is not funny. Now if you look at Tommy, we know someone is pulling the string to make the spoon move. What makes it funny is that he is taking the piss out of himself, while letting us in on this fact. American comics have to come across as intelligent know all's, whereas we couldn't care less how intelligent they are, so long as they are funny.

  • @vashonwashington Americans lost most of the battles in the American War of Independance and were saved by their French allies. Then they lost most of the battles in the war of 1812 and lost the war.

  • @vashonwashington read up man it was the french who beat us the first time with american support and the second time was mostly canada as britain was busy fighting napoleon

  • @KILJaden35BETA do not use the old British historical denial of defeat! first of it was the American militias that seized Boston, New York and Philadelphia, on the western front we captured all your forts and the once proud English commander Hamilton. And the if you claim that it was the 10,000 men on the entire continent who only engaged in a few of the final engagements in the southern theater then you are mad. even if they were decisive in the south you lost in all other American theater!!!

  • @vashonwashington Dear god man have you nothing elce better to do than bring that up on a clip of a british great , get some fresh air son its history move on , they did in vietnam ......

  • @vashonwashington why are you stirring up hate towards the British on a tommy cooper video??

    Anyway,

You don't know us! We are just everyday people living life the best we can with our family's.

I take it you are American? A large number of "English American" are part of your society. British settlers have helped shape the way America was formed.

Remember , Its not the British people who were your enemy, It was the powers to be.

British colonies fought the mother land too!

  • friends is an absolute pile of shit .about as funny as toothache. typical yank humour.

  • @vespasianlegx11 ah, you dont really appreciate the comic timing of Jenifer Aniston and the physical comedy of David Schwimmer.

  • @tonyttt31 Here here American comedy is sarcasm = the lowest form of wit.

  • Nuts, very nicely nuts, he was so funny

  • haha!

  • He scares me....

  • @mistyChacha I could imagine him being pretty intimidating if he was angry/drunk, he had a very loud and raspy coice and hes a fairly big guy too.

  • @cpreston5 and he was in the army before he became a comedian.

  • tirijatatatatata STOP. tirijatatatatata STOP. tirijatatatatata... oh pull it, pull it :D xD

  • bad quality

  • Epic.

  • "well pull it pull it"

  • Americans will never understand Tommy as they have a differant sense of humor to the English, you just have to watch friends to realise that. What an awful so called comady i cant believe it lasted for 10 series

  • @STFC010

Tell me about it. My sister thought Friends was hilarious, I watched it with her one time because I never watched it before so I thought I'd check it out but it bored me to death! I found some bits funny but most of the time I didn't find it very entertaining at all. Don't get me wrong I do like American comedy's but Friends just didn't really do it for me :/

  • @HarvestStation lol friends could hardly be classed as comedy :P

  • @STFC010 Not really... I like both American and British stuff, and dislike other American and British stuff. The two countries have only been apart for 200 years. Try watching Asian humor.

  • @STFC010 ye but tommy's welsh

  • @STFC010 it's spelt Comedy and i'm sure there's a reason certain people, not countries, don't understand it.

  • @STFC010 Friends is great, there is nothing wrong with liking both...

  • @STFC010 This is the time when i'm proud to be part english.

  • @STFC010 your right but friends is fucking amazing still dont matter if its american

  • @STFC010 well said

  • Americans and Brits have different humour although sometimes there is a cross over, appreciate both. Tommy Cooper and Bob Newheart

  • @STFC010 i agree with you on that i hate the stand up comedians from america so boring but friends is still quality like family guy and the simpsons and all that there brilliant

  • I love it!

  • pull it

  • very funny, lovely, dilly a-tatatata, hilarious!!!!!

  • 30 poeple dont no what funny is

  • jimmy carr is pretty funny

  • This is the humour that we all attempt everyday with our mates that if funny. However, Tommy takes it to another level where even the sound of his footsteps on the floor are hillarious! Long live Tommy Cooper, the greatest

  • Hes Gallagher of magic !

  • 29 people don't know comedy.

  • Spoon Jar Jar Spoon well Pull it

Rose Rose Arison Tommy Cooper would be classed clincly insaine now but he was just as normally as anyone else. R.I.P Tommy Cooper

  • The Spoon Jar is my favourite TommyCooper gag ever.

  • @TEPKgaming

condeming them to death? hahahaha. No sir, if you look at your comment you're the one doing that - "but I would condemn those who don't to death" - foooool! how about you stop taking my comment so seriously. As if it was ACTUALLY saying i wanted people to die haha. Bore off!

  • "Spoon, jar, jar spoon!"

    The man is a legend!!

  • I love how he used to walk near the curtain and go " What? oh I know! " and pretend he was being strangled XD

  • Pull it!

  • Is this where George Lucas got the name and behavior for his JarJar Binks? :P

  • just like that

  • Tommy cooper and the jockey refrences XD

  • the 29 that disliked this are c**ns. If there is more than 29 after i've posted this comment. Then, fuck their life.

  • @iGod1990 what the hell is 'c**ns' supposed to mean? It certainly isn't a swear word, because there are none spelt like that, so f**c you, b*****r.

  • @DavidPembertonWebb im just obviously illiterate. i meant CUNTS.

  • Comment removed

  • @iGod1990 Everyone has different opinions, dickhead. I like Tommy Cooper, but I would condemn those who don't to death. That's just plain fucking stupid. You comment on a comedy video with something so serious, aggresive, and dull. It's pathetic.

  • @ser997 WTF??? What are you on about

  • A shame poeple laught at his dead ore they yoused fake laugh at him

  • @ser997 A shame you can't spell. As for his death I watched that show, he was in the middle of his act when he just collapsed, it seemed at the time typical of his humour. We soon realised something was wrong when he stayed down, it was live TV so many people saw it, and as they went straight to a break we knew something was wrong. Even in death he was funny, long live Tommy.

  • The wonderful Tommy Cooper Always loved sadly missed.

  • SPOON JAR JAR SPOON!! :D

  • Oooh god! Nostalgia!

  • is Noel Fielding related to him? I find them very alike.

  • He said "I went to bed the other night and had this dream I was eating a 10 pound marshmellow. When I woke up this morning the pillow was gone."

  • legend

  • HELP!! Tommy did a sketch with a hairy glove (Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde). I can't find a copy or download anywhere. Anyone know where I can find it, please?

  • the fookin' 28 dislikes must be americans then:-(

  • DI-YADADADADADADADADADADADA!!!! What a legend. RIP.

  • Im 20 and was brought up on Tommy cooper as a young boy.. and I still laugh out loud at his jokes. Many people dont appreciate the work that he did, and the pure genius that he was.

Forever in our hearts Mr Cooper.. COMEDY LEGEND..! x

  • George Lucas in bed with Jar-Jar Binks after a particularly passionate bit of love-making...

    - "Spoon, Jar-Jar, spoon..."

    - "No, no, Georgie. Meesa no be spooning with you. Meesa only likey the bang-bang-thank-you-man. Now meesa goin' home..."

  • God will be laughing at him now.

  • 28 people watched 1 man 1 jar

  • If people dont like Tommy Cooper then why come on here and comment????

  • Rather have tooth ache than watch tommy cooper ,, not funny at all ,, i am english i do like comics but i cant seem to find him funny ,, soz guys

  • @moggs69 I think the point is that his material is so crap and props so amateurish and he such an idiot and yet it's funny to a lot of ppl

  • @moggs69 And yet you're watching tommy cooper.

  • @moggs69 it was the styling really that did it for people, he threw away the punch line, yes its not that shocking now, but 40 years ago it was cutting edge

  • One off à kind.

  • I'm 11 and I think this is hilarious :,'-D

  • I can't believe I never heard of him. Great!

  • Tears rolling down my cheeks!!

  • Awesome! I love this.

  • don't u mean 28?

  • @maxdaman48 r u stupid?

  • RIP

  • Lol, comedy legend... Spoon jar jar jar spoon!

  • "See this glove, second hand"

    Comedy gold!

  • @baites11 i dont get that one :(

  • @baites11 Yes Pure Gold "Tiptoe back to the .."

  • @baites11 haha, some of his jokes are terrible but still they crack us all up!!!

  • @baites11 Ha ha, I love that!

  • I find it pretty hilarious that he wasn't a success in america because they didn't understand the tricks were supposed to go wrong.

    Only in America.

  • @Idioteque129 he was a success in america, he just didn't go there because he was over-booked in the uk.

  • @Idioteque129 2 right, trust the spams. Their comedy relies on a custard pie in the face, Sutble there're not.

  • @Idioteque129 Yeah, I understand you :P

  • They God bless America, Someone needs to.

  • @Idioteque129

Really? That shows a real lack of imagination, I think.

Some in America will find it very funny.

Some American humour is very funny. It's not all obvious jokes over the pond, you're being superior and stereotyping - I think it's incredibly tedious.

  • @Idioteque129 To be fair he played Vegas and went down a storm. They offered him regular spots but he'd got lots of work on in the UK and had to decline. He went on the Ed Sullivan show twice with Sullivan calling him 'the funniest man ever'.

It's wrong to say the Americans didn't get Tommy, they just didn't get the opportunity to see him as often as us!

  • @Idioteque129 simpletons lol

  • @Idioteque129 this is much better than the amazing jonathan i'll tell you that much

  • @Idioteque129 That's because we are North American scum ;)

  • @Idioteque129 I find it pretty hilarious that you are convinced that is the actual reason he wasn't popular.

  • @Idioteque129 nah we"americans"v do not find british humor is funny at all....u and the 171 uk people have the worst humor

  • @ranmanplan3000 nah you're just too dumb to understand it

  • @aspiringdrummer17 Americans and Brits have different humour although sometimes there is a cross over, appreciate both. Tommy Cooper and Bob Newheart

  • @ranmanplan3000 is that why you remake lots of our comedies / dramas for your own needs ( usually completely fucking them up in the process ) Take the Office . Wasnt meant to last 10 seasons & have the central character leave the show. Whats next for Dunder Mifflin , alien abductions or a hostage crisis ?

  • @Idioteque129 an that frustrates me to no end cause i love this and I cant get anything except the limited amount on youtube over here

  • @Idioteque129 He wasnt a sucess in america because they cant understand him. lol

  • 28 people couldn't make the spoon dance. Saddos.

  • I live near Caerphilly, where Tommy was born, and often see his statue as I drive past, which raises a smile.

  • pure comedy, inexplicable but hilarious

  • spoon jar jar spoon........... FUNNY

  • Actually nobody is wrong Tommy Cooper was the original Marmite even at the height of his fame he left some people cold I loved him to bits but I don't mind if you didn't that's just life ps I can't bear Ricky Gervais but millions thinks he's a genius. QED

  • : ( R.I.P Tommy Cooper

  • @TheDiddlysquat

A good head for business, but no sense of humor. And on top of that, a nasty character. The usual combination.

  • @TheDiddlysquat your name implies your future

  • good old tommy

  • Gets me every time

  • He was just an absolutely gorgeously funny lunatic. I was only a kid when he died and we were watching and it was terribly sad but he died doing what he loved and he was one of our funniest comedians.

  • 27 people don't have a sence of humour

  • @MrAnimelvr Precisely

  • Classic Comedy from a Classic era.

Harks back to the days when the whole family would gather in front of the TV to be entertained.

  • man this guy cracks me up without the dirty and cursing shit man...
