I'll wager that you can't find any 25 year period in that time frame that had lower avg. unemployment and higher GDP growth than in the 1983-2008 period.
FART: You must also remember little man, that poorer economies typically grow faster and then level off, making the growth from 1983-2008 even more remarkable.
FART: Are you standing by your claim about economic growth 1933-80? From 83-08, we only had one year of negative GDP growth and only 7 qtrs. total that were negative.
Certainly, some of that growth was due to Fannie/Freddie's meddling in the housing market, but on the flip side we would've had a "soft landing' as we did when the tech bubble burst in 2000.

You said from the 30s to the 80s we had "basically uninterrupted growth", yet we had 11 years that registered negative GDP growth and 6 cases of at least 2 consecutive (sometimes 3) quarters of negative GDP growth. I'll wager that you can't find any 25 year period in that time frame that had lower avg. unemployment and higher GDP growth than in the 1983-2008 period.

FART: Are you standing by your claim about economic growth 1933-80? From 83-08, we only had one year of negative GDP growth and only 7 qtrs. total that were negative.
Certainly, some of that growth was due to Fannie/Freddie's meddling in the housing market, but on the flip side we would've had a "soft landing' as we did when the tech bubble burst in 2000.
