Cool to see that you are a TNP guy as well...what is the brand of duty holster? Also, this is the 1st time I have seen your vid or have heard of you, thanx for the info.
I've learned that the Hindi belt system works well for me. Twelve years in Law Enforcement and I've used this system. It's essentially keeping all essential tools up front, accessible with both hands. Essential, meaning firearm, magazines, baton, TASER, handcuffs, and OC spray. Non essential items, ie: radio, gloves, Leatherman, spare cuffs, etc, at the back, And nothing should be behind your firearm, especially with a Safariland holster. Look it up, Hindi Belt System. Just another method.
good to hear it, because that gear u originally posted most of it will get u hurt, duty gear is nuthin to skimp on, so take care and have a great new year
Do you carry a back up gun on duty? If so what kind and how? It's interesting to me to see the different ways people can carry a back up firearm everything from tucked in body armor to in a pocket to ankle holster.
Nothing, especially cuffs shouldn't be on your spine. Good way to get paralyzed. Not sure about light behind gun either. When shooting low light, gun should come out first, then light. Not going to happen with gun and light on same side. Though maybe your light in your pocket is your main light. That makes the one on your belt the back up? Not trying to bust your stones. I just disagree with your setup. Im no expert.
@djturnz I have made a lot of changes since this vid and have switched the light sides. This was my setup while doing Armed security work. I am currently in the LEO block of the academy and have learned a lot about how to set up my gear better.
if that is gear u use as a police officer, dude your agency must be broke, the light, baton, no spray? wtf its crap, your so called flashlight doesnt even fit correctly,
@tntturner1 I am just starting out and a in the LEO block right now so I am still learning as well, and have already made changes to my set up. As for the flashlight it has been upgraded to the LED Lenser and switched to the other side. The Baton has been Upgraded to the 26" ASP. And I am now shooting a Glock. I will post an updated vid.
Knife. Be advised Winchester PDX have had difficulties expanding through denim(plugged), thus causing over penetration. Check out tnoutdoors9 channel, and his test using Pdx 9mm ammo.
I think its a bad idea to have your cuffs in the back center of the belt. You could fall or be pushed onto your back and hurt your spine. It also causes you to put your hand behind you to get them out which could be tough if you are fighting with someone.
Hey I wanna be a cop. I'm 17 gonna be 18 in 4 days. I respect you and thank you for serving our country. Ty. Also I love your set up. You are very wise and think of the worst situation so that no matter what the outcome is your are ready.
Whats the weight on your duty belt. And whats your total weight you carry on duty like your vest, your duty belt, and your EDC. And how would you chase a suspect that is run away from you and is fast with all that weight on?
nice vid im getting a asp in a couple days . im just getting my EDC together im no cop or security my state is wicked layed back on the laws . my future EDC is going to be a switchblade kershaw blackout , asp baton , stun gun , ka bar knife and glock 19
I forgot to mention a while back. The belt you're using is a 5.11 Operator belt. I have the same. Also speaking of belts being uncomfortable, mine is perfectly fine--I just don't like having to take off all of the keepers once I'm off-duty and changing out. No I'm not LEO, I work security.
Any opinions on old school beating tools like a sap or blackjack over the ASP? I know most agencies do not allow their use anymore but from what I've heard from old school guys, those things would work very effectively at putting a mouthy subject down
@stridetide155 You will have to wait until your 21 but when your 18 you could go get you degree in Criminal Justice then you will have a better chance of getting hired. You may not even have to pay for post you could get an agency to pay for you.
hey so since ur a cop, I was wondering what is the maximum sentence for being booked with a concealed weapon in Ontario, Canada? like an expandable baton or knife. and also, when do police officers have the right to search people?
@gunsnrosescolin2 I am not qualified to answer your question for a couple of reasons. 1 I live in Utah, U.S. and we have a different justice system. 2 I am not a judge, and it is a case by case basis do to mitigating or aggravating circumstances and the judges discretion. To answer your other question refer to the fourth amendment in the bill of rights at least for the U.S. They must have probable cause or a search warrant.
@gunsnrosescolin2 I'll answer since I live in Canada. Batons and such are prohibited in most Provinces if you're not an LEO or required to carry it on the job (IE: Security). Knives aren't illegal, but you must carry it a certain way and it cannot be a really long fixed blade if you plan on carrying it around in an EDC fashion. You can only be searched if they have probable reason to do so, but they cannot search your bag without consent. It sounds like you're planning to get into trouble?
nah, im just a curious cat. so what is the most trouble you can get in if you get caught with like an expandable baton and its concealed or something?
@gunsnrosescolin2 Depending on what you'll use it for. They like to ask questions, a lot of it and a lot of the time they're really just trying to squeeze a reason out of you that they like. Not that they're being dicks, they're doing their jobs by protecting everyone else. They don't know you, so why should they be nice? Most likely they'll take it away from you and give you a slap on the wrist. But they may get you with carrying a concealed weapon with some kind of intent.
@thepackripper89 If that is all the info to the story which I don't think it is there would be no warrent to make an arrest. Or even bother the young man for that matter. Police officers do not just make an arrest for fun, for one thing its more paperwork. Like I said I don't think we are getting the correct story here from the kid that is.
@knifegunguy Quite honestly I don't think an officer would arrest a kid for having a knife in his possession. Especially if he's hiking or doing something outdoors-wise.
hey law enforcement, check out americansecuritysupply. com for all your duty gear needs. cheapest site around no joke, just trying to help. under amour boots for under 100!

department issue? I looked a little closer and saw they were Velcro closure whereas the AccuMold pouches have snaps. I was just curious because the nylon you're running seems to hold up to wear pretty well, compared to my nylon gear that looks like junk
@TheHidbenPianoSheet I know what a shame. I just like nylon better all of the leather belts I have had tend to fail at the buckle. High quality nylon will never fail you. Like 5.11 belts.
