If you want a REAL survival bracelet and the best #### ones you'll find, you need to get them from jumpmaster99 on ebay. His are the best I've ever seen and they have more cord in them than the cheapie ones made like this person is making the keychain in the video...

@m4carbineowner The bracelet is a way to get the 8 cords available to you to use; most applications an inner strand will do.

Honestly, this is extremely un-useful! Unless you have time to spend, it will take you a half hour to untie this braid. When I have to take some knots out of this stuff it takes forever! Just my $0.02.

that is a box stitch lanyard look up how to start a circle or box stitch lanyard and find me it is alot easier and slower but is made out of gimp

@dynmicpara yep it is little more than a key chain if you take out the inner cords. The idea is have lots of the cord in a design that is more useful (ie. better looking) than just carrying around a wad of rope. You can google the extremely long list of things to do with paracord.

Yes it is... you can use this methods as a self defense weapon... They usually dip it in glue to saturate it, or tree sap and let it harden. Then it gives you a very efficient weapon. Sow self defense can = to survival "WRIGHT"?

I've never used the flash lights you mentioned in the side bar. But the best flash light I've found yet is from Surefire. The Aviator A2. It's a dual output light. Three LEDs in red, green, blue or white plus a blinding tungsten bulb(you can feel the light from it.) Aluminum OD body and small enough to fit in your pocket. Incredibly durable. I don't know how many times I've dropped it from the top of the CH-53E's I work on. It's about $200, but worth every penny.
