As a Japanese i am quite worry abt people like you who encourage us as if nothing serious abt radiation spreading in japan. If you says Do not believe over sea media, I must say do not listen much for Jap media lying to us for long abt the truth of fukushima situation and radiation danger ! Even SPEEDI made with our tax Jap Gov Lie to us saying it was out of order by the time of accident, but it was actualy working and gave info to USA instead of giving us! Do you still believe fully Jap media?

Do you know our standard was made based on ICRP standard they admit with No Scientific Prove! With that standard Many people in the world are suffering with sickness!

I disagree. It's better to err on the safe side.
You said it yourself - if you read the articles you'll understand that most rice is approved. This recent story shows us that approved does not equal safe (contaminated rice was approved for shipping).
It's better for the farmers to take a financial loss than to risk people's health and lives.
@thunderwh Yes. This is never going to be a win-win situation. And it is possible some people's health will be affected over the next several decades (50 people have died as a result of Chernobyl over the past 25 years). Especially, we all worry about the children.
But farmers have to eat too. So do their families. The limits on radiation here are already stricter than Europe. You have to draw the line somewhere. And it ALWAYS better for people to have the truth rather than media hype.
I have to agree with you on foreign media exaggerating or lying about agricultural products coming from northern Japan! I no longer believe in all of the stuff they write on the paper or report on the news.
