  • my bicycle climbs faster then that rice.

  • @StevenBTT good for you!

  • is there anyway to make the top speed higher?

  • dude dont even lift your foot off the gas just fcuking stomp the clutch and throw it in the gear.. youll shift a whole lot faster you just have to practice on it

  • not at all someone hit 150

  • so if the si speed limit is limited, how do u take off the governer on the si. I know it can go faster than 130mphs. just havent reach there with my si yet, because i am still breaking in the car.

  • Technically, if you keep running past 8000 you'll eventually hit 135. Ideally, I'd recommend getting atleast I/H/E, or any two combination of the 3 as a minimum, and then sending off your ECU to a Hondata dealer for a reflash. After the reflash, the motor should be well over 200whp with a limiter of 8600. To obtain a higher RPM, I highly recommend swapping out the valves & springs with S2k parts. The part numbers are identical but the S2k springs have a larger gap to prevent binding at higher...

  • rpms. So make sure if you do swap the springs to get the springs from the AP1 [00-03] model and not the AP2 [04+].

Drive safe and have fun wrenching.

  • @BigJon930 Hondata Flashpro allows speed and rev limiter adjustment. Even without i/h/e u can go beyond 130. Or u can put some 100octane gas in ur tank and go a little faster on your top speed while stock since it won't lean out as quick.

  • ive done 155 in my prelude :p

  • isnt this governed?

im pretty sure the si can go faster than the prelude. stocked.

  • Didn't you have another gear?

  • 6th gear will hang right around 6000rpms. Top gears are usually overdrive.

  • I hate to tell all you folks... even though I love the SI, it has a governor that limits the car to a max. speed of 155mph from stock.

  • it's actually 157mph... i've tested this personally on my 2006 Si... it was on a dyno with NO RESISTANCE from any elements... it just hit 157mph and bogged down... did it a few times to be sure... then checked the rpms and they were sitting around 7200-7500 when the bog happened... so with that limiter removed it can go higher... but NOT STOCK...

  • hey that last gear was 5th right? or 6th

  • 5th.

  • wow, kept rev limiter goin from 121-130... i'd try it, but not on stock specs... *ouch*

  • look at my video...i have the fatest civic si in youtube....i can prove it...!!!!

  • The light begins to blink approaching redline. When you hit 8000rpms, the light stays solid.

  • whoa... let me find out lol nah just mess'n, u was just try'n it out right? had to watch it couple times i thought u was racing.

  • Had my 08 si at 133 then stoped took it all the way to 8200 every time didn't need to shift into 6th till I hit 130 crazy shit afraid to take it any farther up. Unless I have a rev limit it is possible to go above 136 I think for the new si fucking scary though on stock tires... btw this was with 4 people in the car.

  • top speed dosn't really mean anything.

the new civic Si is about par on performance with the 01 USDM integra type r. The R is Still a bit faster but is also about 400 pounds lighter with no A/c or sound deadning.

I have destroyed MANY built older honda hatches/ integras with my 06 Si.

  • I'm sorry, Si's are not impreseive at all :(, Don't waste your money on one. My 95' Integra Type R "4 door" DB8 series lol made a top speed of 253 kmh (157mph)with an intake, stage 3 clutch ACT and a simple exahust with the limiter taken out.. lol... she got up there, by 3rd gear she was clocking 176 kmh (109mph).

  • My friend's stock '01 USDM ITR beat my stock Si by two car lengths.

  • you need some aftermarket intake and exhaust components...that took way too long

  • there is a way you can block the cutoff, if you know how the car's computer works.

  • its a 136 for my car is my cutoff 07 si stock

  • If you push past the 7800rpm redline and hit about 8200rpms, yes. I usually push to 8000 and shift. Ideally it would be best to change out the valve springs for S2000 springs. They run the same part number but the S2k springs have slightly more clearance so the springs won't bind and less chance of valve float. Then I would be more comfortable with a Hondata reflash and 8500redline.

  • dang my friends tsx could do 140 nd still push si's arent that good i guess

  • Higher top gears. Going to drop the Si and get an S2000.

  • Drive safely, don't speed going that fast for too many reasons, and btw it cuts off at 135 at the top of 5th, 6th is 128.

  • push it to the rev limiter in fifth gear u can get it to 133

  • yea
