  • ITS FRIDAY : D I'm in love! : D <3

  • @pacificnfresh Thanks for watching.

  • Possibly my favourite of all your videos Ken. I really enjoyed watching and listening to this one. I've been a fan of The Cure for 25+ years and it's refreshing to hear a new take on their song.

    Dave.

  • I had genuinely almost lost my voice. I was in bad shape.

  • @KenMiddletonUkulele it's all good. It adds another dimension to the song.

  • your cover is just amazing, really!! that song with the sound of that ukulele, or "cuatro" as we call it in my country, is unbelievable. Congrats!!

  • Thanks very much.

  • I love this - you should have a throat infection more often - the sound is great!

I'm sure you get asked this often but i have been doing lots of research about what to buy as first Uke - What would you suggest - have been looking on ebay and so so many choices that are cheap but want something that has quality

some suggest Lanikai LU-21 - happy to spend around £50 - ish

  • Thanks. the Lanikai is fine or a Kala. I work for Ohana though. Look at an SK-20.

  • Better than oryginall !!

  • Thanks.

  • Great version

  • Thanks.

  • This is great :] Is that a 'Kay' Uke?

  • A Kanile'a tenor.

  • Glad to know it was a throat infection as opposed to sadness, which is what it sounds like, which adds to the song & helps make this a great performance. Contrarily, you look like you're having a fantastic time playing- a lot of festive hand movements :)

  • Wow, you've really been listening today. Thank you, Adelle.

I think you have have to sing the Cure in a less than normal way though. The bad throat gave me the opportunity.

  • As a new ukulele owner, I was beginning to wonder if I was ever going to get the whole uke thing. Then I found your site and listened to this. It's brilliant, I love that little 7th 5th 3rd and 2nd fret thing on the first string and it's really rekindled my enthusiasm. Thank you so much. The only downside is that my guitar never sees the light of day.

  • Don't worry, I never play my guitar either.

  • So glad you've kept this, Ken!

  • Thanks Mary-Anne. Have a great Christmas.

  • Thanks.

  • I love your version of this! Really lovely Ken, and the croaky throat actually suits this song really well I think.

  • Haha. Thank you, Michelle.

  • Excellent, Ken!

  • Thanks Kim.

  • Nice. Haven't heard a Cure song in a long time - possibly never on a uke. Thanks!

  • Thanks very much.

  • What strings did you use on this instrument?

  • Brown Worths.

  • You do some surprises covers Ken, but you always come up with something interesting. Excellent!

  • Thank you, James.

  • The only version I have heard in years is my version. Thanks Tony.

  • Awfully good that's what I think this one is. I love it. It's one of the songs I'd love to have in my car when I'm driving on along journey, especially this Christmas going home to the village. And having your "infected" voice is just awfully perfect! Well done.

  • Haha. Thanks Dylan.

  • Love it! I saw it on ya other channel, but might as well tell you how great it is again :-) You looked like you had loads and loads of fun doing it, which makes it even more excellent :-) X

  • I think I did it for the Invitational on Cosmos. Thanks Ruth.

  • This rocks!!!!!

  • Thanks.

  • always caught off guard at how well the Cure adapts to ukulele. Nice.

  • This one seemed to word quite well, Mike.

  • This is a great song!

  • Thanks.

  • 1:50am, listening to you...just makes me smile! It's only Sunday morning here...thanks Ken
