I don't see anything like this from the gospels. I see a complete diference between what paul teaches and what Jesus teaches Paul didn't walk with jesus and didn't have the gospels to read either. Yet you are believing Paul over what jesus is saying. Jesus tells us to repent, to forgive others, show mercy. If we don't have a choice they why would god himself ask us to do these things. So is Jesus your savior or is it Paul. Mine is Jesus and Jesus stated clearly that he alone is God.
Read John 6 if you want to read Jesus talking about election and reprobation.
Just because God commands us to do good works does not mean we have the power to do those good works. Read Luther's "Bondage of the Will" if you actually want to study the logic of the issue.
God made us sinners so He could save the elect by grace (mercy) and damn the reprobate by justice.
He spent a very long time repeating much the same thing, for a while... :/ I think this could have been better covered by a 2-4 page article, which would have the added bonus of taking about half the time to read...!
