Reason for no MMS on iphone 1st gen:

3G allows for more data bandwith which is required to send multimedia over the data connection.

No, do your research, Microsoft was originally working for Apple when Apple released the first personal computer with a GUI to the market, then Microsoft later released Windows 1.0 and Windows 2.0 which were nearly direct ripoffs of the Mac OS but not as good, then later Microsoft released Windows for workgroups 3.11 which is when it started gaining marketshare. Windows was NOT before the Mac OS.

I think the Apple bashing has to stop now. Here is the deal. Every person that I've known to hate on Apple for the iPhone and I forced to try one out eventually had a smile on their face. hmm, about the lack of mms on original iphones, if there is a physical hardware restriction, it could possibly be the antenna is not physically wired in to some other component that would allow MMS. if that is the case, they may have left such a link out of the original phone because they didn't plan on implementing MMS at the time.

this is completely speculative, i'm trying to rationalise the strange logic. but you're right it does seem slightly fishy

yes i agree that with this new update it is a the better phone but they werent abel to get it right the first time... alot of phones were able to do the things the iphone can do years before the iphone came out but the iphone put all of that together in a great user interface..
