  • ONLY 55 VIEWS?!

  • Yes, Brazzi did the acting and the miming and Tozzi provided the singing voice which we hear on the record

  • Isn't this Rossano Brazzi, from the movie soundtrack?

  • @melizmatea Oh, he was dubbed!!! I never knew that!!

  • Ezio Pinza sang Some Enchanted Evening in the published key of C. Tozzi sang it in Bb, a whole step lower, probably for comfort.

  • the sheer power in this man's voice is unbelievable! his abdominal six pack must be a Baker's dozens! blood suckers don't know what "wise men never try " took? unbelievable!

  • ;A;

    Oh dear.

    I can't decide whether to sing this or Almost Like Being In Love from Brigadoon...

    ;n;

    They're both so beautiful...

  • Wow! This is fabulous! Captures the late 40's and early 50's.....three million G.I.'s returning to their wives and girl friends. The 1950's....the most romantic era the world has ever seen....or will likely ever see........again. Thanks for posting......

  • the age of innocence.

  • Oh yes ! This is the version I'll never forget. I've watched the movie about six times and I'll watch it again cos I think it's one of the best movies ever. When I first watched it I was in the RAF in Singapore.

  • I like Tozzi better.

  • Thank you. My mom and sisters listened to this song from this album in the early 60's. I want to sing this song.

  • A most heart-warming voice here....I wouldn't have minded being the "stranger across a crowded room" at all! What a loving version of this wonderful song from south Pacific! I do enjoy his special voice! Sing with the angels...they could probably use a fine bassso! Thanks for the Tribute, YOU TUBE! I do appreciate what you are doing!

  • This was my grandparents 1st dance at their wedding April 15, 1950

  • He was no Pinza.

  • @VinylToVideo And Pinza was no Tozzi! Both great basses....but totally different. Tozzi had the more beautiful instrument for me.

  • I love South Pacific, and think this is a great song. But, let's be honest - does he sound French? His accent sounds like Count Dracula from Transylvania to me. Seriously.

  • Ah, so zat ees hees secret!

  • It's the accent that makes it so sexy....

  • Yes a great song interpreted by a great singer. My dad's favourite washing up song, too!

  • My favourite song of all time,sung this way.
