  • cool stuff man.

For those who aren't quite this beastly, you may want to check out my bass lesson for this song.

  • Great playing and great tone from all basses. Do you just use the neck pickup on each?

  • I own Fender 62 Vintage jazz bass Reissue. Its serial is V189446. I couldnt find reliable data by serial number. Can somebody help me ?

  • great comparison! I have a 74 maple neck (black) and am considering a av ri 62, and also own a 96 jazz..... Wow great comparison, after hearing this I think Ill stay with my 74 as the maple and aged bass sounds great(maybe its just the rounds).

Thjanks a million! (GAS may get me to a 62 ri but my 96 sounds great with sd-2 jazz pups).

  • that white one with the maple sounds simply amazing my favorite from your collection and awesome playing as well

  • Very unique instrument. Temperamental neck, but it has a variety of tone that I have never heard in any of the many J-basses I've played or owned. Thanks for your comment.

  • What strings do you have on each bass? It sounds like rounds on the '77 and flats on the other two... ?? Help me out here! Excellent playing btw!

  • It is as you say.

  • Whoo!! Man I'm good :-) haha once again, truly excellent playing and tone. Rock on!

  • Thanks, dude.

  • the vintage white with the maple fretboard sounded badass

  • the 62 reissue is my favorite sounding. I have one as well. Expect I upgraded the pickups to custom shops. Also, mine is lake placid blue. I also sanded down the neck which is awesome. However, my overall favorite bass for tone by my small fan bass (lol) when I play gigs is my 85 rickenbacker 4003. This is compared to the 62 jazz bass and a 2008 Ken Smith neck Through I have.

  • are these strings flatwound?

  • Hey guys, I have a pbass replica right now. Im thinking of getting a jazz bass, is it worth the move up?

Im starting to realize that the clean p bass tone isnt what I like.

  • P Basss Replica? Me Too, Does It Say California On The Neck In The Fender Font? lol

  • lol, I have the Geddy Lee jazz bass now lawl, but it is a Slamer by hamer

    its sorta junk lawl

  • Are you resting your thumb on the E string or the fretboard at the body cutaway?

  • It's almost always on the E-string, unless I am playing the E-string, when I will usually rest it on the neck pickup cover.

  • I would have to say the fretless in the beginning! lol

(I just got my first bass two days ago, so i don't really know much about basses)

  • you will find out that frettless bases are gods compared to fretted ones...

  • Really? That's just what my music teacher says. How are they better?

(not trying to be a butthead or anything)

  • the yellow one with the black pickguard and block inlays. It looks the way it sounds, awesome!

  • Oh my god! what a sound!

  • Which bass is your favorite?

  • i love the fretless(L)
