I suggest you read your history and the atrocities of the Japs in WWII. Yes there may be hate but would you not hate a race that taught brutality and torture. Every Jap on the home Islands was ready to die for Emperor Hirohito. If it wasn't for the bomb Japan would not exist and neither would you because your father would have ben kileed at the Invasion. If your parents were not involved then you have no say in this argument.

We did not spare Germany. When we fire bombed Dresden there were more casualties than Hiroshima and Nagasaki combined. Dead is dead. How matters not to the casualties.

Too bad they didn't drop that bomb on Nazi Germany. Even if they surrendered months before, they could have used that as an example and caused the capitulation of the Japanese. I really think that the fact that Asians were the target allowed the bomb to be dropped without protest. If the time frames re the end of the war were reversed (Japan surrendered and Germany was still fighting), the bomb would never have been dropped.

I disagree. Had America had the bomb earlier, it would have used it on the Nazis. Once you have a weapon like that and you are in a world war, there is no question you use it. Any nation in that situation would.

Well, considering the record of the Nazis, it follows that once we developed the bomb, we should have dropped it on Germany, Hungary, Albania, and Turkey. Italy got a pass because they hung Mussolini because they mistook him for a big Prosciutto . Then they hung his kid because he was such a terrible piano player that one of the favorite Italian tortures was to strap someone in a chair, prop open their eyes with toothpicks, and play recordings of Il Duce's kid playing piano.

What's missing in the U.S. Military today is leaders like General MacArthur and Patton. How it must have been to serve for Men like those.

Patton was an arrogant blowhard but he was very effective at what he did. MacArthur on the other hand was insane. When looking at how to deal with Japan Admiral Nimitz come to the logical conclusion of bombing and blockading. Mac Arthur wanted personal glory so his plan was to needlessly endanger hundreds of thousands of lives with an invasion. During Korea he wanted to nuke the Chinese too. The worst thing he did was to cover up the crimes of war criminals Shiro Ishii and unit 731.
