The difference between Chicago's dispatch operations in 1988 is practically no different than the FDNY's dispatch operation circa 1988, including the comings and goings of the personnel! Same stuff, just a different place, I guess....
To Me, that was one of the BESt Dispatch systems around..The Panel with the Lighted dots were the fire companies, the lights changed color when the status of the company hanged. The panel wit the switches was the Dispatch Board, you could dispatch All the companies, North & south.. I still wish we had that system!
