  • Your VIdeo Med School Is Very Useful Sharing

  • Very encouraging!

  • Guess what brother! I was 32 when I started Law School. Now I am 34 and in the final year! Hahahahha~ I have had about 7 different jobs since graduating the Bachelors Degree in Media in 2003. So I basically have done everything I have ever wanted to do in my life. And this legal practice career should be one of my last. I am also interested in entering the politics once I become a successful lawyer. So it is all about perspective. How much do you enjoy your job now? If you don't like it, move on

  • @UnitedKorean how was ur Media career field? successful? i want to kno cuz im still in high school trying to figure out wat i want to do.

  • i think he has a mid life crisis he thinks he can help people but people can not be helped.

  • @cheeks84

    Hahahahahahaha! Win!

    That's not true of course, but there are some people you just can't help. That much is true.

  • go do something else, med school is not good.

  • wow this is mr.presse's channel thats awesome good luck to you sir

  • i wannnna be a doctor a wanna be a dcot omg omg omg omg !!!! daaaator1!!! how much do they get paid? how much, someone tell me? hopw to get in?!!!!

  • @bomberfun1 90% of premeds will not get in; they don't know what it takes. You have to dedicate a fair amount of time to getting into medical school. Get a 3.5+ Gpa. Get a 30 mcat. And get some clinical shit. Recipe for getting into medical school.

  • congratulations, by the time you graduate, you'll be rady to retire. By the way, you know med school is expensive. I am sure you can get loans, but, how are you going to pay them once you graduate?

  • @hankazaria

    There are incentives now that if you complete med school and you go where you are asked to go, your tuition is paid....I checked into it.

  • mr. presse, it's my dream to be a family doctor too! I know I'm kind of late, but congrats! how's everything going at harvard?

  • I think this is a big issue, and am shocked they would allow someone of that age in medical school

    Medicine isn't just about fullfilling personal issues - it is a service to society. And school's allowing someone of that age into school really limits the amount of service you could get verse a younger student - and with the serious shortage of doctors - allowing a person of this age to go through school adds to that

  • Wow...just amazing!!

  • Gives me hope I plan on trying for med school and I have been in the Army for 7 years now I have to get my B.S. then try I will be around 30 when I apply for med school.

  • rene presse...you're my hero!

  • gotta do what you want to do to live happily

  • wow, so cool. i want to be able to work in a lot of things that i am interested in too

  • I don't think they should allow anyone under 30 in medical school. How is it advantageous to be treated by someone who was in high school less than a decade ago, rather than someone who has the maturity that comes only with life experience?

  • @bigbabyjesus12 It takes 4 years to graduate medical school, and residency+ fellowships come up to 5 to 10 extra years. If everyone started medical school at 30, barely anyone would want to subspecialize into lengthier studies, because that would mean graduating at around 45...

  • Canada: home of the Rush, the world's oldest band, and now the oldest med student as well!

  • i know a 47 year old guy in my medical class!

  • The show scrubs turned me on to becoming a doctor

  • Well, when they don't pay an arm and a leg for their medical education, they don't have to worry about having a shorter career in medicine than their younger classmates.

  • good luck man!

  • This is a great story of how a well-rounded, educated person can pursue his Calling, even at 52 years of age. He is in great shape and the return on this investment is priceless.

    Highest Personal Regards,

    Dr Margaret

  • Pssh Canadians with crazy names

    lawlz

  • this man is active,smart and driven despite his age, and all you notice is his name? Pssh americans and their dumb shows like jersey shore! Really dumbs down society to notice silly things of no relevance or importance. I don't mean to be so offensive. But those shows are really pissing me off. Americans need to put their money to better things like 3rd world countries, not dumb fake shows for heiresses.

  • There are a few 'older' or mature students in my naturopathic medical program at ccnm. It's always a pleasure to have a wide range of diversity in the program to get all perspectives.

  • ND is not a real medical degree.

  • Woooow so he will be a doc at about 65

  • So where is M pressé now?

    M Pressé j'aimerais avoir de vos nouvelles et vous félicite d'avoir le courage d'aller au bout de vos rêves...

  • Brilliant, great to see people capture their dreams.

  • This is a great story. At age 30, I have returned to university to pursue a dream of becoming a surgeon. Congratulations Mr. Presse, and keep up the good work!

  • I have a guy in my 4th year of Med School and hes like 34

  • @SixFiber

    But age has nothing to do with it as you have learned. Hell, I am 50 years old and I have as associate in Arts and Science and my GPA is 3.89. I am pursuing a second career-either medicine or law. I am a retired police officer. I ran circles around my younger classmates in community college, and my Chemistry professor told me I should pursue medicine.

  • @SixFiber 34...4th year?..thats not old....thats ideal, I think.. I will be 33 during my 4th year....oh boy..please dont make me feel old.....

  • wao.....then what is my problem??... at age 28..well 29....I think I am on the right track.....

  • I have a guy in my class (an undergraduate 6 year course in Queensland, Australia) who entered at the age of 52. He gets on well with most people in our class. I say good on him.

  • Most med schools expect you to have completed the following before applying:

    2 semesters of general chemistry with lab;

    2 semesters of biology with lab;

    2 semesters of physics with lab;

    1 (or 2) semesters of organic chemistry with lab;

    Several universities look very favorably on additional courses (even if not specifically required) such es:

    Molecular biology; Biochemistry; Calculus; Statistics;

    Pre-requisites vary somewhat from one univ to the next.

  • My radiologist says he had a student at the age of 65. Im assuming that this was in the Radiology Specialty program. This vid is inspiring in itself. I am waiting to get into x-ray school, but I have to face a waiting list/lottery just to keep up on the road. But I think that you are what your worth once your in selection of medical school!! Im 34 and I am thinking long and hard about this too. But GODSPEED to Rene Presse!

  • im 19 and i was thinking of TRYING to become a doctor... i say trying because ive heard how hard the studying can be, how long it takes to become a doctor and how competitive it can be. I like in the UK and i have NO education in Science, so id have to start from scratch, right from the very bottom and work my way up. Do you know what id have to take? Biology? Chemistry? i dont know... what did you take?

  • Nice, I'm in the same situation! Good luck!

  • good luck!

  • very inspirational for older interested minds of medicine.

  • I was under the assumption that a whaae : 0:50 lol

  • You were under the assumption that...what???

    What is a ...whaae : 0:50 lol...

  • Mr.Presse it's me Marco you're student!
