Congrats on 692!!!!!!!!! I am currently at 400. I have never ace'd twice with the same disc. 400 different discs all in my antique beveled glass cabinet with date, time course and hole# on them.
One of the greatest Ball Golfers, Ben Hogan, never got a Hole in One in Ball Golf and I have one ball golf hole in one but Ben is a much much much better ball golfer than me.
Nothing wrong with you counting that as an Ace of r your own personal tracking. I would not have counted it playing in competition with Brian. Congrats!
hah My friend thought those glow sticks(same fishing bobber kind) would work good for disc golf at night. Though the course we go to has a lot of forestation around the course and it's easy enough to lose a disc in the day. I wish I hadn't lost my very first disc(dx leapard) yesterday, not only that but 2 days after I bought it =(
The first one is the best one! I started in 1998, got my first Ace 45 days after I started playing. My best years were 6 aces a year until 2005 (25), 2006 (111), 2007 (103), 2008 (79), 2009 (42 so far).
That seems very impressive.. I've been playing since 06' but only in the summer and even then it's hard sometimes.. I was going to say, I think I got my first and only after about a couple months of playing.
I just started this season. It's great. And the first disc i found, ended up being the first disc i lost. I've been looking everywhere for another, it was a KC Pro Gazelle.
Anyways, i usually play at Stoney Creek, where most holes are 300ft+. But i play'd at a new course and got my first ace, if it even counts..73ft. lol, threw my putterX. You think the Gazelle is a good disc? KC Pro. I can't find a new one anywhere :(
my friend actually just recently found a real beat up gazelle...i just thought it was a funny coincidence...but trust me its real beat up u wont want it
Sometimes doing the things you love require the loss of sleep. As in any endeavor those that do it with passion can overcome many obstacles and take their game to a new level.
Unfortunately with my job, I can't travel. I have to play local recreational when ever I am not working which is usually when others are sleeping. Good luck in the tournament.
How do the lights effect the throwing of the disc? I would think it weighs it down quite a bit and changes the stability a lot. How much does it effect the ability to throw the disc?
I have seen lights specifically designed for disc golf discs at sports authority, but I just thought it would effect the disc too much.
The glow sticks I usw from walmart when placed on the disc have no effect as the glow stick is small and very lightweight. The lights that have some weight on them seem to make the disc more understable.
hey, is there anyway that you can go into more detail about how you are putting the lights on the disc, is that black tape on the top or bottom of the disc, and does the light affect the flight of the disc significantly?
I will try to put together a video soon on attaching a light to the disc for Night Dsic Golf. The black X you see on the disc is not tape, it is a black magic maker. A black X on the disc helps find it on the ground better at night. Having a light on the disc is not really noticable in effecting the flight of the disc.
my first and longest ace was hole 1 pin placement a at endicott park,257 feet.ive never played night golf though.i played in 17 degrgee weather a couple of days ago,it had just iced a little so we got some crazy skips.this was at white birch park in hazelwood, mo. the only down side was slippery tee pads. i sunk a nice 30 foot bird and that was the high point of my game that day. but hey it was so cold me and four of my buddies had the whole course to ourselves.
stl has some awesome courses.also if ur ever in kansas city water works is probably one of the coolest course ive played yet. keep rackin up those aces. what the longest ace u ever got?
I loved playing the KC courses at the 2003 Am Worlds. Water Works is a sweet course for sure. My longst Ace is around 260 feet although I threw it over 300 as I really had to swing it way right and it was a nice skip ace.
Hey Cubby, I am a big fan of yours and your videos and I was wondering if you could help me out.Lately when I have been going disc golfing when I throw my backhand shot my muscles around my shoulder have been hurting me and I was wondering if I have been doing somthing wrong or if you have any tips to help keep my shoulder from hurting.
Dunbjum, I am glad that you a big fan and enjoy the videos. Sorry to hear about your shoulder pain. Tough for me to identify what is causing the pain. You may want to check with a Doctor to see if there is someting physically wrong that is causing the pain from your backhand motion. I know some players that throw exclusively forehand because of issues like your throwing backhand.
Hi FAnchax, I like to use heavuer discs 175 isgrams is typical for my although I Putt with a 165 gram putter. I like Innova discs the best especially really overstable discs.
I mainly use drivers even on approach shots. I only use a putter to putt. Recently I have been adding mid raange discs in my bag. Thanks for the kudos, currently at 301 :)
btw Cubby I am a forehand/overhand dominant player, do you know any good pros/vids to watch that use a lot of forearm and overhead shots in their game? Thanks!
Thanks! The ESP Comet is one of my favorite discs in my bag, take the line you put it on every time! I went through the chains on a long L2R drive yesterday with a Pulse, DAMN was that bitter sweet...
man you are awesome...i've only played 3 runs now, and i can not imagine getting an ace..maybe one of these days...i'm off to play with a buddy today at a place called white spruce park in brampton Ontario..maybe it's my lucky day.
Sweet jesus you are balls deep for disc golf, but I am too. Do you know the rules for taping stuff on or putting stickers on a disc? I heard from somewhere that in the PDGA rules you are not allowed to stick anything on your disc.
hey cubbie im also in wisco so for sure post something if ur in the area and i found it to be funny me and my buddies use the exact same glowsticks when we go night discin...are they 2.48 for 4 of em in NJ too?

i was playing a solo round the other day at sedgley before doubles was starting.
on hole 18 (239 from blue) i through two terrible drives.
i decided to throw one more drive, and it went in.

should i count it?
