The commercial is made to make you keep watching it, you thinking about it like that means it succeeded. You now might connect this commercial to Smirnoff, and that line of thinking might come to mind again, leaving you to buy more Smirnoff.

The purpose might as well be the effect Smirnoff could have on your mind, playing with mystique and humorism. It could also be explained in a similar way to what you asked. Does it make you the devil? Perhaps it awakens the little devil we all have inside?
