@clmedia1 Melina did not want to return to the show because she had creative differences with the writers/producers, and as for why Stella is gone, it was said on the show that Stella took a job to be the crime lab leader down in New Orleans.
They can't keep the Original Characters Forever...the show would eventually get boring, all of you who keep moaning about the new character, it's all part of the business, it happens, accept it.

@dinoatcharterdotnet That's definitely a nice run for all three, though; 13 seasons for CSI, 11 for CSI Miami and 9 for CSI NY. There's not a lot of shows on TV nowadays that can say "Our show ran for double-digit seasons." :-)

@TopOfTheGear1 No Sasha left NCIS because she wanted to start a family and she couldn't with 22-24 episodes a year that were like 17-18 hour days. She said she was crying from exhaustion. By comparison, Rizzolli & Isles only does about 10-15 a year, so she gets an extra two months or more off.

Part of me thinks the reason for CSI NY's massive ratings drop is half because of the move to Fridays and half because Stella left.
I hope they can pull out of this funk, though; I really love this show and would be disappointed if it got canceled.
