  • @cutepurple12345

    I know what you mean!

I'm one of those girls who has butt. Apparently the fashion these days (at least in Australia) is to have a very little butt.

    What a pain :P

  • havin learned the basic steps.. u now forget them completely :D

  • 25 people have two left feet.

  • Well, today some parts of this would be called Lindy Hop, others are Boogie Woogie, and of course there's East Coast Swing which most closely resembles Jitterbug.

  • Is it wrong I saw the title, and assumed the instructors would be black. And I was surprised to see white kids? lol

  • the chick is pretty nice looking.

  • NOW THAT IS DANCING! Good to see the JB again.

  • Woddy :D

  • and freeze frame

  • cool

  • WONDERFUL....COULDN'T STOP SMILIN' !!!

  • My mom nearly died watching this! I wish people danced more like this nowadays!

  • @JazzTd10 Goto LindyGroove in Pasadena CA

  • @DanceForrestDance Thanks! That is so cool! Too bad I live on the other side of the country :(

  • @JazzTd10 Just google search your city or the closest city of decent size and the phrase "lindy hop", which is what we swing dancers call the jitterbug nowadays. Any good swing scene should have a basic beginner lesson before the open dancing, usually it is once a week. Check it out!

  • @celticbelle Thanks!

  • ihis video was actualy quite amusing. i got a few chuckes out of it.

  • ithis video was actualy quite amusing. i got a few chucles out of it.

  • 23 people wish they could dance like this

  • @cashopa +2 more (3mths later) lol

  • I danced with the blond just days ago! She's still got moves!

  • I bet they never imagined their dancing video would be on the internet for everyone to see

  • they're so HEP! :'D

  • i have to do this at my sister wedding

  • How can anyone give this video a thumbs down! It was the forties.... this was for the time, young, hip and groovy. Rock n' Roll was in its infancy. NO, I wasn't born yet, ha. This was my parents circa. I just know that before this all they really had was ballroom dancing. It was time for some groovy and fun moves. I loved watching these people.

  • OMG!! love it..I wish it was longer

  • 'and the girls foot should never be placed here' I'll just keep them on the ground then. and that drawing at 4:18 explaines EVRYTHING!

  • Like if you love the lady at 7:08

  • these times seem so awesome.... to bad im black or i would say i wish i was born in the 20's

  • This might have been considered funny in the 40's. I think it's interesting but not funny.

  • ROR

  • It's called the Hesitation Shorty George.

Lmfao I wish I was born in the 40's

  • @greenagoo Well what do you expect name-wise. It's a varation on the Shorty George that has hesitation, named after "Shorty" George Snowden. He got his nickname because he was about 5' even, and his partner Big Bea was close to 6'.

  • @greenagoo Don't you mean you wish you were born in the 20's?

  • okay.... see how they danced before, and see us now. we all doin da dougie and da jerk, and the old times dance looks maybe even ancient. lol

  • this is too funny!!

  • @KennyWatcher better than the peckerwoods lol

  • @KennyWatcher r u trying 2 be funny

  • Love this - to think my parents did this!

  • 5:10 Paul Shaffer from Letterman. LAWLZ

  • Although I find their mannerisms, slang, and speech patterns quite amusing, I'm also fairly certain people 60 years in the future will look back on us similarly.

  • This is awesome I wish I could learn this...

  • @dannielpreto There are still dance schools teaching this stuff, and annual competitions. Google jitterbug and lindyhop.

  • i want to get down with these cats and jive!

  • hahah oh my god this is hilarious

  • Quit staring, herring! Let's squirm, worm! :::heart this::::

  • I wish this was longer

  • Goddamn I wanna do that! :O

  • Awesome!!!

  • I love the jitterbug, but I don't think the people who made this video did a whole lot of research on its history.

  • @Scarebaby That or they preferred to rewrite it. Funny how they conveniently left out the obvious black origins of the dance and only linked it to remote European dances and square-dance lol

    It's the 40's after all...

Amazing video nevertheless! These dancers are top-notch.

  • can we have a where r they now video

  • either back then women were lighter or men got stronger cuz i cant do any of that picking up or flipping lolz

  • @tvgee95

It is all about momentum. Take a lesson and you will know how to do it.

  • that guy creeps me out.

  • why don't baptists fuck standing up? they don't want anyone to think they're dancing

  • Dislocate your dream-box, bud.

  • This was way back in the day when white folks could actually dance.

  • I wish this kind of dancing was the norm still. It's cool looking and fun. :D

  • @Tonxie Try looking up swing dancing and/or lindy hop in your area! You'd be surprised just how many people still do it.

  • Omg is that King Cat Walsh from that episode from I love Lucy ?!!!!

  • Lol too cute

  • "Having learned the basic steps, you now forget them completely." 3:40

  • I'm 12 and what is this?

  • Hahahahahahah this is SO legit. I LOVE IT. These people are hilarious and soooo talented. Jealous!!

  • 0:49 her shoes! love them!

  • That explains everything.

  • Did that thing come with credits? I'd love to know who the primary female dancer was. Wonder if she ever went on to anything bigger... Thanks for posting!

  • When I'm at parties (I'm 18), I start dancing like this, among all the skanks dancing like, well skanks. Not even kidding, I love everything from 1940 - 1979, I will never even consider dancing like the young people do nowadays. Not that you can call it dancing, anyway.

  • @ZtellaStar you dance to drum and bass?

  • wow wow wow wow wooooowwwww damm forget boying im swing my butt on to the dance floor

  • so cute

  • Now that's what I call Holling ASS!

  • That's the whitest jitterbugging ever

  • so funny!

  • Are you hep to the Jive???

  • i'm exhausted.........

  • That guy dancing (in the first couple) looks like King Cat Walsh. He did the jitterbug with Lucille Ball on one of the 'I Love Lucy' episodes.

  • @ladybluluv I was thinking the same thing when I watched the feature. I think it is King Cat Walsh!

  • Get a load of these cats! They're SOLID!

  • LOVE the music!!

  • Produced by a Smith named Pete...you don't say..

  • OMG! Is the blonde dancer a young Marilyn Monroe?!

  • Woah. How complicated!

  • lolololol! omg! I need to learn this! :D

  • Looks like they're having a lot of fun. ;)

  • LOL to what narrator said at 1:25-1:26

    WTF @ 6:15 & 8:13

  • What's Great about the jitterbug?

The girls spun and jumped and show a whole lotta ASS!

  • "White people can't dance".

I do not bring this up because i'm offended. I being it up because I'm pissed off race even got into this. I mean, why even being it up? Sounds racist just to mention it in my opinion.

  • Best video I've seen all day . . . and thats really sayin something given the amount of videos a regular youtuber goes thru

  • 6:15 Pahaha! What the heck?!?

  • @seajayaway I loled so hard at that! haha!

  • great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • We learned the basic steps to the jitter bug in gym i just wish i could of learned more but guys were to imature....

  • Arthur Walsh!!! Awesome.

  • Come on u guys. stop reproching the todays dance. I mean the jitterbug is ok. But u gotta admit that one of the reason that u guys love it so much and say "Now thats dancing!" its because its freaking old... Be real guys.

  • I wouldn't like to meet the people who gave this a thumbs down! Still - there's now't so queer as folk. Simply awesome and hilarious!

  • @valeriemci1 Yeah, it's unfortunately the jitterbug gene they are missing. Or you're just being a racist, but that doesn't seem very likely, does it?

  • OMG! This is so good. I feel cheated for not being around back then.

  • It´s like watching a Goofy How to Dance!

  • Comment removed

  • @NejiTentenlova You are obviously an ignorant teen that does those "skanky" dances

  • @NejiTentenlova Well you're just saying that to be argumentative. And you're being ignorant to modern dances. And there's something wrong with you if you went and looked this up at age 14 for fun.

  • @NejiTentenlova ignorant to what?

  • @NejiTentenlova hahah i totally agree. I'm 15. I hate school dances because nobody actually knows how to dance..

  • @NejiTentenlova You're probably ugly and have no friends.

  • @TheCoDRoyalty LOL.

  • @TheCoDRoyalty welcom to the trolls club. they need pple like u. ur mean and not funny, the brilliant one YEAHHHHH BOOOOahh

  • @miharih You Jelly?

  • @TheCoDRoyalty must be jelly cause jam don't shake like that

  • @NejiTentenlova I like dancing like a skank.

  • @NejiTentenlova well the important thing here is that you've found a way to feel blindly superior to the rest of us with your hipster ways.

  • love the music.

  • "The Gay Old Waltz" Ha ha ha. I have a feeling the guy would probably be considered gay in todays world. This is pretty funny to be a 'Hep Cat' today would also mean someone has Hepatitis. Man I love the dancing lol WTF is the dude beating the chick over head doing. This is amazing! Thanks for putting it up! Its a trip!

  • @ImeldaDavies

It was not until the 1960s that the term "gay" was adopted

    by homosexuals.

  • "...and the gal gets off her rusty dusty....." rofl!!!

  • awesome

  • awesome

  • wonderful dance ;3

  • I think the male dancer is the same fellow that Jitterbugged with Lucille Ball in the "I Love Lucy" episode where she's had an eye exam and the eye drops have made her temporarily almost blind! A very funny episode!

  • @weightfeather1 It is. His name is Arthur Walsh.

  • @lindyhop411 Yup! Arthur "King-Cat" Walsh.

  • "And now you have learned the basic steps, forget them!"

    I'm laughing tears!

Love how they followed the feet with the white lines "And here you are! This explains everything"

Seriously the whole movie is quite impressive and you can really tell they all enjoyed doing this. xDDDDD awesome!

  • I diddn't know that groovie was a term that was used in the 40's. I though Groovie was a 70's thing.

  • Man dances back then were so much more fun than now. I wouldn't have mind dancing these in my high school proms instead of the dry humping and ass rubbing they have in proms now. Sheesh...

  • @AmethystPersonality Start a swing club, and get your friends to learn Lindy Hop and you'll be dancing it too!

  • Love the jitter bug! people could really dance back in the day!!

  • I remember that Jitterbug scene that wasn't used in The Wizard Of Oz. Pretty crazy dance!

  • Jeanne Phelps Volez. What a Babe !

  • This is actually really really hilarious. Haha wow.

  • Wow, I'll bet she was a hell cat back in the day and by the way, my granny ain't wearing herself no panties!

  • this is a riot!!!! :D

  • ABSOFREAKENLOUTELY LOVE IT!!!! <3 lolzzzz so awesome awwww the good times. lol that was a super sweet era!

  • I really like the way women dressed and styled themselves back then. Its classy yet sexy

  • Dislocate your dream box! Is that what he said? LOL. This is so great...

  • The music at the end is the "One O'clock Jump." This is probably the Count Basie Band. He did a number of versions and tempos of this jam tune. Check out his videos on You Tube.

  • @lobologic Actually, it's the Tommy Dorsey version.

  • Does anyone know the title of the tune at 5:15 ? Musthave!

  • @adrianlovessoup One O'Clock Jump. This version is by Tommy Dorsey.

  • @lindyhop411 GREAT! Thanks!

  • Cool !
