Well apparently Hasselblad is going to release Phocus 2.6 for free which will support a whole lot of raw files from different camera manufacturers. I could never find my way with lightroom and have few patience to be learning it. I just use ACR + Photoshop but it is both expensive and not that good for batch raw processing.
Aperture 2 is faster, smoother, better at handling libraries (safer as well), and can do every adjustment that lightroom can (the ones that matter). Also Aperture is cheaper to the general public then lightroom (not everyone is a student or is willing to lie about being one). In my opinion Aperture is better hands down. For extreme editing most people open up photoshop or gimp anyways. Regardless for serious users either Aperture OR Lightroom is leagues ahead of everything else.I <3 photography
everyone does realize that lightroom is better then aperture, and essentially everything else at what it does. and you can get it for less then a 100 bucks so not sure why this really contest.
wait, hold on just a minute. Did you say Lightroom is cheaper than Aperture? WRONG! Lightroom sells for $299 new, Aperture is $199 new. If you upgrade, then yes, lightroom is only $100. But i do agree that lightroom is better.
It's called Picasa and it owned by Google. It's a desktop application which allow you to manage photos and make simple edits and it's also linked with an online account where you can upload photos to the web. There are several tiers of storage I can't remember off hand what they are but the free one is not to bad. Hope this helps.
1st! before you call me pancake let me make a constructive comment, there is an alternative, and its called picasa, but certainly its not as full-featured nor powerful and cant work with RAW.
Aperture is only $79???? Has it had a incremental price drop because compared to Photoshop CS5 or Lightroom thats pretty cheap.

Directly from the website :/
Therefore I intend to stick with Paint Shop Pro X......
And if my photography becomes unmanageable then I will look into Lightroom.
