Glad to see someone else running 2 JL 8w7's, people always tell me how awesome their 12's 10's are (in a small car) and I tell them to listen to my two 8's and people are amazed. Those 8's are SO CLEAN, I love this set up this definitely is a good job! (I drive a 350z, so the two ported 8w7's sound beautiful)

yeah, i had to shave my avenger's dash to fit my pioneer double din radio in. but what are you using to power all of this? and extra battery? because i was thinking about getting a redtop, but the battery can only be reached by taking off the front wheel.

@KelvinHairII I went with the dual alternator setup. The stock alt powers the stock electronics, and the 2nd high output alt supplies power to the amps. I DO NOT recommend going this route, cause it requires WAY too much effort and money. Redtops are good, but don't get two unless you have a 2nd alt. Two batteries on one circuit will put to much strain on your charging system (alt). If your voltage drops belows 10.5 or so, upgrade your alternator.

@KelvinHairII I would recommend at least another battery before going with the HO Alt setup. The alts don't generate the power on demand like an ideal system should, so there needs to be something to source the current before the alternator has its armature current increased by the regulator, therein increasing current output. I would recommend a battery. Decent performing batteries would be like a redtop, but I would look for high current UPS batteries. Cheap, powerful, and very effective.

@ordy101 There are also different types of sound offs. They have SPL, and SQ sound offs. This set-up is not meant for SPL. I agree, he needs to dynomat his vehicle if not better. 250 each channel, but thats probably its peak.  If so, its RMS would most likely be 125 watts a channel. The RMS is the number you should take into consideration.

I would go with the 10w3s. The w6 will sound a little better (SQ wise), not because of the myth that smaller subs have "tighter bass", but because a w6 will play more of the frequency spectrum with better clarity. The 10 will be considerably louder, though. U should take the money you would spend on 2 mediocre subs and buy 1 of superior quality. I probably sound like a hypocrite because I have 2 8s, but that was the choice I made when I was less knowledgeable on car audio.

The install is 90% of the system. I like to think the box is the most important component. You can't go wrong with the JL pre-built box. You can build your own box for cheaper, but you have a bigger window for error.
