I used to work in Pitlochry during the summers in the early 90s when I was a student. Its a great place! I suppose I can understand some folk may think its boring but it used to be great for parties and the pubs were always full but that's when all the workers in the summer were students (circa 1992 - 1995). Don't know what it would be like now as there are a lot of migrant workers and Scottish students dont do summer jobs anymore! I still head up now and again and still think its a great place
I can see where you are coming from, where i live I get really sick off on a regular basis. Sometimes it's really hard to see what you have on your own doorstep, it's easy to take it all for granted. From my point of view, Pitlochry is an amazing place, the people who live there are really friendly and only too happy to help out an outsider.
we stayed in the campsite at -1 degree but the expereince was great! It's the heart of Scotland and you should be proud of your place in Scottish history. Well done, I hope we get the opportunity to share dram the next time I visit!
yeh fine thanx,u shudda been here yesterday it was packed.Canadian pipe band at lunch time then at night our 2 bands joined them and they all marched thru the street, they cudnt fit!!!it was a squash, but great 2 see all the same.good weather to go camping just now, have u any plans 2 go anywhere durign summer?
Sounds like an excellent day was had by all! It would have been good to be camping up there at the time :-)
My mate (the thin guy in the video) was up at Pitlochry recently, he stayed in the Westfield Hotel.
I was just talking to him on the phone and it looks like we will be back up again in September some time. Another social event in Pitlochry campsite :-) Great fun...
It gives that impression to someone passing through :-)
It's full of junkies, alkies, low lifes, degenrates and neds unfortunately. I was driving back from St Andrews today and marvelled at the loveley floral displays and hanging baskets that were on show in the wee towns and villages.
They would rip the flowers from the ground and tear the baskets down in our area.
pitlochry? full of junkies?? alkies??and low lifes??? that does not sound like the pitlochry i live in ...must be the visitors your on about... i moved here from perth and believe me its a much nicer place to live ...can leave your doors unlocked tell me can you do that where you live ????
I was talking about where I live :-) Pitlochry is a beautiful place and I would happily spend the rest of my life living there. I was rplying to comments mate by Brucey62 where she asked where I lived, I was giving a description of my area LOL.
Jings, I could FEEL the offence taken in your reply LOL Read the thread from start to finish and all will become clear. You made me smile tonight PMSL.
