This could have an ABA bottom end but definitely not ABA top end. That top end is counter flow. ABAs are cross flow engines. That alone shows anyone that knows the difference between an ABA vs the early 8 valves. I have an ABA in a few of my rabbits.

I love reading the comments for this vid. Especially from someone who obviously knows nothing about VW (talking about JASON9022) VW actually did put the ABA motor in the Passat and all 2.0 liter engines are not all DOHC. I have an ABA motor in my Jetta and either I'm missing a cam or its SOHC :) In fact if anyone has an intake manifold from a ABA passat for sale hit me up!!

It's an aba block with a CIS head

That is an ABA because I built it back in 2001. It's a tallblock with a 89 GLI CIS head. It's got a nice dent in it I see. :(

This IS a 2.0 aba from an early 90's passat. Look it up on vwvortex or search google for image references.

You need to check your sources. This engine came from a 2.0L B3 Passat GL.

@EPzti Nope, we got a 35i from 92 with a sohc 2.0L, 1984cc, motorcode is a 2E of our passat, 85kw/115hp.

@feki122 all of vw's 2.0ls were dohc 16v go take that engine apart and you will find 8 valves so if you have 1 cam you have a 1.8l engine unless you bored it out

@jason9022 passats came with aba's but in very low numbers. Then again was also a waste of time too since passat's weight a bloody ton.

The 2.0 16v was the only good option for that car unless, your went the tdi way.

@jason9022 You cant judge by looking the video, 2.0 has taller block, and pistons are same diameter. Its a 2.0L as owner sad, but not with 2.0L valve cover. Thats what confuses you, valve cover is from 1.8L G60.

Hi, I've just put the same engine in my caddy. Just a quick question about your suspension, is the back axle flipped and how much lower are you at the front? Do the ATS's hit the arch at all?
