  • Well put! Marxism & Progressivism in the US have EMBRACED the irrational, emotional, & theoretical exemplified in their Pulitzer Prize Winning President B. Insane Hussein Obama! I, for 1, am sick of the President claiming his policies (over 2000 pages?) result in the exact opposite of what he claims! Take healthcare, unemployment, job growth, debt -- did I mention DEBT, war, power, oil, housing as examples of how the exact opposite of what Pres. B. Insane Hussein Obama says will result happens!

  • Conservatives generally oppose internet regulation because they're extremely reactionary about the subject of gov't regulation.

They have no idea what the issues on the topic of net neutrality are. These people are so tech-illiterate that this won't change any time soon: they'll keep opposing net neutrality on principle w/o having any idea of the context of the dispute.

The only consolation is that conservatives are making such fools of themselves that they'll eventually go the way of the Dodo.

  • No! Don't take away my porn!!

  • So if we say something bad of the country or have a website against the corruption, or talk bad about someone we will be banned? This guy is right about the fact that we don't care or want to learn about history. This is why we will be destroyed or enslaved.

  • The internet is the last form of free speech -- Soon we will lose this right too.

  • Both republicans are the same. The libs want to control freedom of speech and republicans want to control morally inappropriate information. REGULATION is the problem.

  • Well, I'm a conservative (and only vote Republican) and I don't believe the gov. should control the internet content as far as moral/ immoral behavior. I know a lot of conservatives and I'm pretty sure none of them believe in regulating the internet either. Republicans and Democrats ARE different. Ron and Rand Paul are Republicans.

  • @kenner311 they are both out to fill their pockets here ill make it easier for you... do you watch wrestling? you might as well watch it if u dont. if u believe in politics they are both the same!!!!! god i love how this country has its people brainwashed. open your eyes america we lose more freedom everyday because of DEMONcrats and REPUPLICANS.

  • OBama took care of that.

  • Do not worry gradually regulation, infringement and impairment of ideas , and fee,s will come into the internet . It is here now in some cases.

There is no chance this is not coming money and control will always limit free expression. But it,s always sold on the notion for the common good. Kind of like friendly dictator who is raising taxes to take care of everyone.

  • "its really young - its been around for 10 (Ten) Years"

BULL - Its Older Than That. Been Around Since The 60's-70's

  • Commercially, they mean. Not just for the military/universities/etc.

  • The first connection was between MIT and Harvard, I think somewhere in the early 70's.. but what we're talking about here is the internet in the sense of public use, any individual able to post freely . Unless, you're talking about the internet that Al Gore imagined to have invented.

  • How often do we hear these contradictions? We need regulations to "save" the internet? We need the Federal Reserve to intervene to "save" the economy? FDR raised taxes and confiscated gold to "save" the economy? The enemies of freedom always claim to be the Only answer to "save" what they really intend to destroy -- life, liberty, and private property.

  • ...and when they fail at their "responsibilities" it's always because of underfunding in some way. More money, a new department perhaps, will definitely solve the problem(s)

  • right. the problem is always that the government doesn't steal enough from us. not that the government is too greedy and its expectations are completely unreasonable.

  • A great explanation of why ideas and philosophy are more important than having a battle of "facts" or "history". The irrational will always spin or bend the truth to align with their irrational values.

  • This is why Net Neutrality scares me, although not as much as the idea that there is a near consensus that such regulation is the pro-freedom option.
