What is the maximum strip length you have including where you turned around? I am looking at one of these planes and I dont have but 600 feet in a straight line. I have another 6- 800 feet but the first 600 would be for take off and landing the last 6-800 would be used on landing only incase I landed long but I I'd have to turn slightly with banking I might add. It's hard to explain exactly . Nice video and setup ! If I cant fly from home I may stop flying.
@haileysheaful From the tree line where I turn around to the drop off at the other end is 700 feet. 600 feet is plenty if you have no obstacles. The tree lines are causing me problems, I'm trying to fix that. With no obstacles you could get away with 3 or 400 feet, but you would have little margin for error. On the video I am using little or no braking.
@stolflyer Sam is a problem, I have had to do go arounds because of him, fortunately he is slow, and I have learned if I don't buzz the field, he goes and stays home after I take off.
@stealhty1, I have just finished my flight testing, and now I am dealing with density altitude it is so hot here in Mississippi. I don't think it will be a problem at gross weight but I am going to work my way up to it.
are you using any PSRU on this VW engine ?does it have 100HP ? thanks
