This is one of my favorite songs, and how it came into my life, as in, my actual playlist, is a total mystery. It just.... started playing one day while riding my bike. I'm not even that crazy about the rest of OT's music, to be perfectly honest, but this song, this one right here, is just so.... meta.
My one favourite track from the album and one I happily played on Fm radio in Chile with many other OT tracks from different albums. This is also probably one of the best recordings in their whole discography. I'm curious to hear the 180 grams LP.
@ndlaxball2 Guess they probably must have at some point in time, nevertheless I don't believe all psychedelic music or space-rock requires musicians to be stoned.
THANKYOU for uploading this track. I heard this years ago on a mates album and never did manage to get my own copy! Gettting straight onto amazon now :-D
true. to 'get them', i think you need to be of a certain nature. if you are a jock who likes unintelligent women, beer and football, then this is just weird... but, to us enlightened people out there, it is utter bliss!
since the ozrics left for USA, i would imagine that they would become a lot bigger.
maybe the reason for kicking jumping john out was that ed wanted people to take the band more seriously?
to me, tho, jumping john was an essential member of the ozrics. i aint seen em for about 5 years, but the videos i have seen without john seem rather lacklustre.
This is a masterpiece, as is "Become The Other". The perfect mix of what you expect and what you couldn't imagine until they played it... IMNO these 2 are the strongest of their output.
If you like this, check out The Mermen's "Food For Other Fish" and/or Jai Uttal and the Pagan Love Orchestra's "Monkey". When this came out, KFJC played them all, and the Buzzcocks and George Clinton, and King Missile... All Hail Ann Arbor, 6 to 10am, on KFJC!
Regardless of short term musical trends this is a Helluva track.I'd be chuffed if created something of this calibre.Ed joie merv top ,top class muso's.Don't stereotype them, they are savy, can't do this if you don't know what your doing..
Had Ozric existed in the early to mid 70s (when I was in jr. high school) instead of now, not only would they have been multi-platinum superstars, but I would have totally been into their music like I was with say, UFO (and like the way most 15-year old kids are when they listen to a band they love)
Melting Euphoria is a band that i saw in San francisco, CALIFORNIA, about 1998 that opened for Ozric Tentacles and let me tell you sugar dem muthas was good you mutha. But seriously even though I am your age I can assist you and other muthas in finding very delicious 'and nutricious holistic bands. Gong, Mother Gong, Jade Warrior, Steve Tibbetts, Eat Static, System 7, Magma, Patrick Bernard, Praxis, Aphrodities Child, Kazumi Watanabe, Larry Corryell, Lost At Last, Michael Tsarion, Leo Zagami. OM
Again, to clarify- No disrespect meant to the band or their followers, but when this LP came out, the world was more or less off listening to Pearl Jam and Nirvana. Grunge Rock was king and this type of music wasn't that popular. There were hardcore fans, no doubt, but most people I knew didn't have a clue who they were.
it all depends...in electronica world where people like techno music, etc,...the ozric's are some what popular, same with space rock too.
But on average every day people their not popular.
Ozric Tentacles are a very good band...I don't care if its popular or not...I think most music thats in today are trash, like nickel back, linkin park, etc...
Inexplicable cure. This masterpiece tear out many primordials we have left behind and turn it upside down. A huge source of encrypted information. I love it !

Super title, i love it, it keeps his motion all along, but this is just the right speed, and the washes and swirls are wonderful. Ozric still.

It really doesn't sound anything like it, but this always reminded me of "The Weapon" by Rush, off of their "Signals" album.

both great. if rush ever had another opening group again, it should be ozric!
