  • Starman I could not have said it better myself. The magnitude of the words the music & harmony can not be touched by the music oh today. Thank you for the beautiful memories

  • I can still remember slow dancing with my steady girl, with her head on my shoulder....God....... music just doesn't get any better than this......and probably never will again........That was an absolutly magical time in our past.

  • @starman1946

Beautiful memories :) Thank you so much for the listen and the comment! :)

  • What a beautiful song. Not at all like the shit the kids are listening to today..You can actually understand the words...So soft but still so powerful. The era that this music was recorded in was so different...Those of you who missed that bygone time will never really understand what I'm saying....But those of us who lived back then....We know good music when we hear it...

  • This song made it to #1 on the US AC in 1961. Great song.

  • I'm 19 now but when i was 9-11 years old my Grandpa would take me to Summer school and pick me up every day and he would drive me in his miada, and we would listen to the Beach Boys and the Lettermen and I started to love these two groups, but the Lettermen are still my favorite group. I miss those days. Thank you for posting.

  • @SuliemanTheGreat

It was my pleasure! Thank you! :)

  • When I was a kid, my sister was obsessed with this group and years later, she and I saw them in concert many, many times. I became a Lettermen fan too. Their harmony was always perfect and they put on the greatest show. Such gentlemen too.

  • @SherryAnn68

Lucky you! Thanks for the listen and the comment! :)

  • I try to imagine being at a drive-in back in those days and hearing these beautiful songs - since I wasn't born until '62!

  • @MrOrionfan

These are great songs :) I was born in 52 so I remember hearing it and mostly I remember sitting on my aunts (who was a teenager) bed and listening to 45's with her! Thanks for the listen and the comment! :)

Thanks for listening and the comment! :)

  • @ceekay1952 : And allow me to say, "Thank you for uploading this timeless gem", in return. Another interesting part of this particular Letterman hit; Listen to the crescendo of the strings between 1;34 and 1;38, and then the other crescendo between 2;03 and 2;10. Sends shockwaves down the back. Thanks again.

  • Very nice job on the visual presentation with this wonderful song. I saw them sing it and their other great hits in 1968.

  • @DaddyCool1947

    Thanks and lucky you!!! :)

  • I wasn't even a glimmer in my father's eye in the 50s, but the harmony and voices are just timelessly beautiful. This is their best.

  • when i fall in love by the letterman #220 best songs of the 60s

  • Among my favorite love songs of The Lettermen.

  • connie has small boobs

  • It touches the heart, and takes me back also.

  • This is one of my favorite songs and I love the music of this era. The 50's were the greatest.

  • @lerebs

The 50's...the music of that era is a favorite of mine also! Thanks for commenting! :)

  • So many failed relationships, disappointments, broken hearts. Yet this ideal of romantic love touches profoundly those who understand that such love, at its bittersweet core, is total commitment.

Thank you, ceekay1952, for the posting. The world is a little better because you cared to share this haunting work of art.

    Love ya,

    Connie :)

  • I don't mind telling you that I put this hit in my record collection back in 1961/62, and played it often. Tell me something, or someone with a degree in Pyscology...I want to know why anyone would cry over this song. If someone had their feelings hurt , is it possible that they would cry like a baby to a song such as this one. I can see someone crying over Elvis or Ronnie Savoy & The Heavens Cried(tragic), but When I fall in Love..if someone has an answer, plez fill me in, Thx4 postin'

  • @Ezdduf4kuZ Our hearts are all touched & moved based on our life experiences, and we can come to tears for both the good and the bad. My best friend was killed by a drunk at 21 on the way home from his fiancee's parents after spending her birthday evening together. I can picture her balling her eyes out over this, feeling she was partly responsible for his death - he wouldn't have been on that dark road home if he hadn't been with her. He would have changed my life, too, had he lived. Miss him.

  • @Ezdduf4kuZ : No psych degree here, but I love this song, too, Lettermen's version is the BEST. Maybe it's the gorgeous harmony, or just that it strikes an emotion found in all young people....Can you imagine a song like this being played on the radio today?

  • @justmusicandme It was either u or @chkjns I was gonna reply to. Thx4 your feedback, both of u!, & yes it's true that is is a love song to be up there with the best of them. Nsync can hit me where it counts too with "This I Promise You" a current love song. 1 video has them singing like angels on high, there, the video features spanish subtitles below. Anyway I've overlooked the comments as I remember sobbing & singin to this way back when thinking, "Will I ever fall in luv?" lol

  • i think even if we can't remember the exact lyrics to this song, we still have the melody stuck in the back of our heads. like me, I knew the song, could somehow sing along with the song but didn't know the name of the song until I looked it up online.

and I'm sorry to hear about ur wife, but now's not the time to see what one's lost, but rather to look back and see what you've achieved over the years. you've obtained true love and I applaud you, wish me luck.

  • I absolutely wish you luck in finding your true love...I'm searching for my second love now...I don't think life is meant to be spent alone, not yet!

Thanks for your comment...it was a good one!!! Connie :)xo
