Everyone came home with a new respect for the job firefighters do. We do have to remember that they have limited resources for funding and what they learned that day will come to mind NEXT budget time. It's not going to change budgets overnight. It is a process that takes time, patience and a few good negotiation processes.
Bill, Because the only other comment is negative, I will put MY spin on it. It was a remarkable experience for all those that participated and they HAVE positive memories of it. This program IS a success in every locality that has sponsored it. While there will ALWAYS be naysayers, people like you and the "mentors" will continue to educate even if only ONE person gets it. Sad to say that some within the Brotherhood will pooh-pooh it for their own purposes.
