Each religion is exposed by it's fruitage, the true followers of christ produces fine fruit by preaching until the Armageddon comes. JW's r the only ones doing this on a grand scale.
There are MILLIONS of people coming to and accepting Christ's salvation everyday!!! This is by the work of the HOLY SPIRIT not by the "works" of men. There are 5 times as many Mormons as there are JW's and they too send missionaries around the world peddling another Gospel. Does it really matter what he looked like or what his entire purpose was here on Earth? If he wanted us to know waht he looked like, he would have made an effort to have it written by his apostles. DUDE, think abut what you are doing, and talk to Jehovah again....

lots of things in the Bible don't make sense to the carnal mind (1 Cor 2:14). This is why we must be born again, this means to become a new creation (2 Cor 5:17), to be born of God (1 Jn 5:18), to be born of the Spirit (Jn 3:8).
Well im learning about JW and its great they are nice people. Jesus gave us the opertunity to live in the paradise. There is no chance in the Bible. And it is NOT by knowledge. It is by placing faith in Jesus we get eternal life immediately as an ASSURANCE.

See, the Bible teaches that we get eternal life by placing faith in Jesus and that you Know in this life that you have eternal life.
Why Jesus was protrayed as scrawny might be explained in an old college health book (around 1910) which stated that at one time the thin, pale, sickly look (as if someone were fasting for months) was associated with "holiness" and so painters and illustrators gave religious figures (such as Christ) that look. We don't miss the big picture. We know Jesus died to pay the price for sin and so we would have access to God's presence for eternity. You will notice that each video exposing the Wt on Youtube addresses different points to demonstrate that the Wt is not of God. This is just one point on the Wt's false teachings and false Jesus.
Since no one knows or knew what Christ looked like he was illustrated in a way they thought honorable or respectful. Considering Jewish tradition, he was given the beard. But I don't belive such trivial things are important to Christ. The early apostles got things wrong, and he patiently corrected them in due time.
The things I like about the JW'S pic's of Jesus is he looks like a man instead of looking like a wimp in those other paintings which have jesus so thin and pale looking, Sally Struthers, would've given him food.
I studied with the Witnesses for 3 years and could never understand why the cross was such a big deal for them. He was crucified by pagans so doesn't it stand to reason that he would be crucified on a pagan instrument?
And, yes, when he was hung on the CROSS, he was a mess.

Funny! Many people call themselves Christians but do not read or study the Bible, this is why they kneel to an object. Some others trust in an organization and blindly believe whatever that org tells them without studying the past of that org or verifying critics of the org.

The JW has not experienced the Cross and the power it has to draw us to Christ...the WTS doesn't teach thier members to come to Christ himself, the message of the Cross would bring them to their knees in gratefulness and teach them about true Grace, but all that would draw them to Christ has been changed...the Cross to a stake....the word Grace to undeserved kindness...etc.

1 Corinthians 1:18 yes... People scoff at the idea that by exercising faith in Christ's sacrifice we can enjoy life. What I was referring to is the worship of the cross, and not what the actual meaning of the death of Christ can do for us. People pray to it and lose main focus of what the real meaning of Christ's sacrifice. Instead they look to an image for direction instead of going to the source.
I am taking issue with your coment of not needing the message of he cross. We do need the message.Yes, you're right, it is Christ and his our Heavenly Father who draw us, but the message of the cross is a profound means also of drawing us to Christ and the love he showed and the message of the gospel, it's all tied together.

To JW's: Jesus said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6. Also for JW's: Jesus is God manifested in the flesh...there are countless scriptures to prove this. Three in one. . We believe that Jesus, God and the Holy Spirit all operate together as one but are three equal persons. They are not the same persons nor are they three Gods, but they are one in essence and nature.
JW's - Please go to a libary and brush up on ancient history. You will see that the Romans did invent this cruel form of punishment - crucifixion. Yes, they used crosses...some shaped like X's. They also use poles (stakes). This is where the word "crucifixion" comes from - the latin root word for cross. The Romans persecuted, tortured criminals and those opposed to their form of government in this manner. Do your homework.
The JW's will do just about anything to be separate themselves from other groups, so their Jesus has to look different! I used to be a JW. How happy I am to be free!
Why do you believe that everyone outside your organisation is godless? That is far from the truth. Do some study on the 7th Day Adventists. There is not one doctrine that they have, that is not supported by the Bible alone.

Of course not they all have different syles and abilities. I have seen many pictures of Christ on the cross from christendom and he wasn't bleeding or bruised...

One of my points in this, is to demonstrate that the Wt is just a religion (false) like all the ones that were born in the last 200 years. The Bible without ANY orgs is sufficient.
It is true that many Christian artists have portrayed Jesus with little blood, even the picture I show of "Jesus" by a Christian in the video is not perfect logically. But Christians do not claim to give salvation to anyone, whereas the Wt claims to that there is NO salvation out of itself for millions of people.
And if the Wt is suppose to be the way through whom believers are to attain eternal life (and I can quote the Wt on this if you deny it), then they should also be more knowledgible on Jesus' crucifixion!

Jake, I have been a bac most of my life, but never felt right about some of the teachings, especially the trinity and hell-fire, so I decided to look at other religions. I have been following your comments here for about six months, what you've said and your use of the Bible convinced me to look into the J.W.
So when two witnesses came to my door a few months ago, I agreed to study with them, and it's been great, a real eye-opener. When I saw your comment about leaving, I figured I better grab the opprtunity to thank you for your efforts.

I hope you realise your error. Truth is not in an org that appeared 130 years ago with an other Gospel. Jesus warned us against people who would come and preach an other Gospel.

Just be careful, because it is not because a doctrine is complex that it is not true or that if it is simple must be true. This is the error that Johannes Greber made.
If you mention to the JWs that you are talking with us (who are viewed as oposers to the Wt) they will warn you to stop your communications with us, and to not examine sites that are critical of the Wt. But you must scrutinize a religion, especially if you are to join! It is of utmost importance to put a religion to extreme test and to pray alot for God's direction. God bless!
MrKatt, you haven't bothered me at all. I was just talking to a very nice guy on another video board. He suggested I change my name, because it sounds like I'm already a jw. I'm going to do that, to something more appropriate. I told the guy I study with, I joined youtube, to help in my search. He didn't look happy, but just said, be careful, not to believe everything I read.

Make sure that any subject you discuss with JWs, to write down the verses on a note pad and to later (when you're alone) read those verses in the context. What you quoted to me is in Romans Chap. 6. Read the chapter completely, it is talking about being dead to sin (not physical death), read it VERY carefuly. JWs take many verses out of context!
Hello JD, remember standing up for what one believes in isn't always standing up for the whole truth. I too do not believe in the Christian hellfire and the trinity stll doesn't add up to me, but i still feel the JWs have it wrong. Taking in knowledge is the key to finding truth, so i commend your study with the JWs, regardless the JWs have some unusual flaws for being god's only channel of communication on earth to read up on. I just find the whole thing so confusing, and all the ire that exists between people who all believe in the same God, all believe in Jesus, there's so much animosity,... Why?
I sometimes think the atheists are right, that we're all a bunch of weaklings who just need something to believe in. Everyone is so damed sure they can prove their own beliefs from the Bible .... It's exausting!!!
So many serve for all the wrong reasons, i believe that many people start out following jesus correctly and lose sight of what he had in mind for them. then those develope ideas of how things should be and then fight over their own wants instead of searching for the truth. People like to settle down and be comfortable, but with the truth this comfort is a spiritual hypothermia, one must keep searching for truth like proverbs says keep searching for it as hidden treasure.
to Jehovahsday part2: Witnesses are quite deep, but many are advised not to search for the truth except inside the publications made by the society, this does not bode well with me, it makes me think of a court case that a decision is made where the judge hears one side and hushes the other. But i suppose that the comment here could not really encompass the scope of what i would say about what i have seen regarding the witnesses.
to Jehovah'sDay part3:I know persistantly searching through all the chaos is very tiresome but don't give up, i am sure the answers will reveal themselves to you. Whether Christianity, atheism, or Buddhism is correct...i personally am agnostic and searching, hopefully something will make sense someday soon, perhaps everyone has it wrong at the moment and we are all clueless, but even so i will continue to search and learn and i hope that you will as well.

I guess so, i think my search is for a religion that genuinely conforms to all logic and history. which is difficult to find, hope and desire alone are not enough to warrant faith in to me, as this is what so many do, with a pick and choose attitude. I do believe that truth exists in a form comprehensible to us, but it may take time, still, to understand and thus thus search continues.
I know I'm a long way from the first one to say this, but, maybe the journey itself, the searching itself, is the reward. Maybe that's the point of all this ambiguity, God wants us to stay busy looking, until the time he finally says, "o.k you idiots, this is how it really is..... But thanks for playing"!

Ive been seeking for quite some time aswell. Have a simular background as you, now, what defines truth, is the Bible and the Bible alone. It is not difficult to understand, if prayer to the God of Truth is done. Personally, I have found a group that follows the Bible, so far, the doctrines they have are sound, the philosophy is, if there is something not according to the Bible, it is not truth. These are called 7th day Adventists.

People seem to miss the point of these illustrations. These illustrations just help convey a study point in the literature. There's no need to illustrate every single minute detail. The general idea is that he died on a torture stake. If you look through a variety of their pictures, most of them DO have differences!

They hid in Egypt not because they were the same color as Egyptiens but because the Romans would not search for them there. Note that Herod killed the children age 2 and less around his erea. He did not go into Egypt. So that you are chinese, black, medium or white you could hide in Egypt.

Why Jesus was protrayed as scrawny might be explained in an old college health book (around 1910) which stated that at one time the thin, pale, sickly look (as if someone were fasting for months) was associated with "holiness" and so painters and illustrators gave religious figures (such as Christ) that look. But this is not the biblical Christ who chased out the moneychangers and did other rough or physical stuff. (When they went up the mount of olives and places he had to climb it )

I studied with the Witnesses for 3 years and could never understand why the cross was such a big deal for them. He was crucified by pagans so doesn't it stand to reason that he would be crucified on a pagan instrument?

RESEARCH ANCIENT ROME, there is ample EVIDENCE that the Romans used CRUCIFIXION as a vile way to punish criminals. go 2 a library, etc. THAT IS FACT. the Bible says Jesus died a "criminal's death". the trees they used were shaped in +'s, T's or poles. The word "stauros" in Greek, can mean any 1 of these. JESUS death on the cross was GOD'S PLAN -not the Romans'. The JW has not experienced the Cross and the power it has to draw us to Christ...the WTS doesn't teach thier members to come to Christ himself, the message of the Cross would bring them to their knees in gratefulness and teach them about true Grace, but all that would draw them to Christ has been changed...the Cross to a stake....the word Grace to undeserved kindness...etc.

I don't need a symbol to draw me to the Christ or the message of one. The Christ draws me to him not the Cross. We all know what undeserved means but have you ever looked up kindness in a Thesaurus?? 1 Corinthians 1:18 yes... People scoff at the idea that by exercising faith in Christ's sacrifice we can enjoy life. What I was referring to is the worship of the cross, and not what the actual meaning of the death of Christ can do for us. People pray to it and lose main focus of what the real meaning of Christ's sacrifice. Instead they look to an image for direction instead of going to the source.

Jake: I know that there are many that do not like the SDA. It was said about the remnant church, that they would not be liked. Im pointing fingers at JWs because they do not teach what the Bible teach. It is that simple. It is hard for you to see it, because it is so obvious. Just read 1 thess 4:13-17 and revelation 20:4-6, the sealed are in heaven, the rest are dead. This is what the Bible teach.

JW's - Please go to a libary and brush up on ancient history. You will see that the Romans did invent this cruel form of punishment - crucifixion. Yes, they used crosses...some shaped like X's. They also use poles (stakes). This is where the word "crucifixion" comes from - the latin root word for cross. The Romans persecuted, tortured criminals and those opposed to their form of government in this manner. Do your homework.

I hate to tell you this but no one has a picture of what Christ looked like at anytime. Do you think the artists at the watchtower are the same artists from 1925? Of course not they all have different syles and abilities. I have seen many pictures of Christ on the cross from christendom and he wasn't bleeding or bruised...

We know they placed a crown of thorns on Christ's head...we know he was bruised and bleeding....You know we weren't making a movie Katt...It wasn't Passion of the Christ it was an artist's drawing from our literature.
Who cares if Jesus had a beard or not...I don't....it isn't important to me. Aren't there much more important things to worry about? For God's sake people....Wake Up!

One of my points in this, is to demonstrate that the Wt is just a religion (false) like all the ones that were born in the last 200 years. The Bible without ANY orgs is sufficient.

It is true that many Christian artists have portrayed Jesus with little blood, even the picture I show of "Jesus" by a Christian in the video is not perfect logically. But Christians do not claim to give salvation to anyone, whereas the Wt claims to that there is NO salvation out of itself for millions of people.

No one knows who will or will not be saved...only God. Do we think that our religion is the correct one?....Of course.....You believe yours is the correct one...if you didn't...you wouldn't stay there.

I hope this is enough. Point #3 is the clearest. Please recognize your error. In reality there is NO salvation in the Wt, not even in the Church. You must be born of the Spirit. You must come to Jesus and leave the Wt org.

Katt...There is only salvation thru the shed blood of Jesus Christ. That is my belief and that is the official JW belief.
The authors are saying...Come to the JW's because we can show you bible truths so you can live in accordance to bible principles....and gain your salvation thru Christ...not an earthly organization.

You do not need men to think for you and tell you what to believe or your out! I don't know what bad experience happened to you in your assembly, but switching to the Wt won't make it better. I guess you will have to experience it for yourself. I am sure you did not investigate the wt thoroughly.

MrKatt, I am by no means convinced they have the truth, and I'm "still" investigating. The only thing I'm pretty well convinced of is the error of the trinity and other doctrines I've mentioned. In the pit of stomach, I feel they're wrong, and I believe the scriptures back that up. No one's thinking for me, my eyes are wide open, and I'm still open to all help, including yours. thanks MrKatt ... You have a cool name!

Just be careful, because it is not because a doctrine is complex that it is not true or that if it is simple must be true. This is the error that Johannes Greber made.

If you mention to the JWs that you are talking with us (who are viewed as oposers to the Wt) they will warn you to stop your communications with us, and to not examine sites that are critical of the Wt. But you must scrutinize a religion, especially if you are to join! It is of utmost importance to put a religion to extreme test and to pray alot for God's direction. God bless!

MrKatt, you haven't bothered me at all. I was just talking to a very nice guy on another video board. He suggested I change my name, because it sounds like I'm already a jw. I'm going to do that, to something more appropriate. I told the guy I study with, I joined youtube, to help in my search. He didn't look happy, but just said, be careful, not to believe everything I read.

Make sure that any subject you discuss with JWs, to write down the verses on a note pad and to later (when you're alone) read those verses in the context. What you quoted to me is in Romans Chap. 6. Read the chapter completely, it is talking about being dead to sin (not physical death), read it VERY carefuly. JWs take many verses out of context!

Hello JD, remember standing up for what one believes in isn't always standing up for the whole truth. I too do not believe in the Christian hellfire and the trinity stll doesn't add up to me, but i still feel the JWs have it wrong. Taking in knowledge is the key to finding truth, so i commend your study with the JWs, regardless the JWs have some unusual flaws for being god's only channel of communication on earth to read up on. So many serve for all the wrong reasons, i believe that many people start out following jesus correctly and lose sight of what he had in mind for them. then those develope ideas of how things should be and then fight over their own wants instead of searching for the truth. People like to settle down and be comfortable, but with the truth this comfort is a spiritual hypothermia, one must keep searching for truth like proverbs says keep searching for it as hidden treasure.

to Jehovahsday part2: Witnesses are quite deep, but many are advised not to search for the truth except inside the publications made by the society, this does not bode well with me, it makes me think of a court case that a decision is made where the judge hears one side and hushes the other. But i suppose that the comment here could not really encompass the scope of what i would say about what i have seen regarding the witnesses.

to Jehovah'sDay part3:I know persistantly searching through all the chaos is very tiresome but don't give up, i am sure the answers will reveal themselves to you. Whether Christianity, atheism, or Buddhism is correct...i personally am agnostic and searching, hopefully something will make sense someday soon, perhaps everyone has it wrong at the moment and we are all clueless, but even so i will continue to search and learn and i hope that you will as well.

I guess so, i think my search is for a religion that genuinely conforms to all logic and history. which is difficult to find, hope and desire alone are not enough to warrant faith in to me, as this is what so many do, with a pick and choose attitude. I do believe that truth exists in a form comprehensible to us, but it may take time, still, to understand and thus thus search continues.

Ive been seeking for quite some time aswell. Have a simular background as you, now, what defines truth, is the Bible and the Bible alone. It is not difficult to understand, if prayer to the God of Truth is done. Personally, I have found a group that follows the Bible, so far, the doctrines they have are sound, the philosophy is, if there is something not according to the Bible, it is not truth. These are called 7th day Adventists.
