"Dad they're still wearing crosses.." He's on record saying he reading the bible, and this statement leads me to believe it's true(not to mention comprehended it. The trinity is unbiblical; I believe it; Bill believed it; so should you.
This is definitely not Hick's last recorded show, as he refers to the CBS debacle happening the previous Friday. This would have put it in the Fall of 1993. BUT, WITH THAT SAID.........thanks a LOT for posting this. This is classic Bill Hicks venting in detail about the whole CBS incident, in the way that only Hicks could do it. Hicks new he was dying at this time, and he was cutting loose. I love the Bob Saget comment. Agree with the man, or don't agree with the man, but he is missed.
This point goes entirely against the entire stand-up routine performed by Hicks. How is it ignorant to ask, "Is that true?" It's a comedy show, and it was a harmless question. Forming a negative opinion about an entire group of people or assuming they're somehow "below your level" is insulting.
I thought this comment was rather ironic considering the point Hicks is so strongly trying to convey to his audience.
He talked about the non-plused prolife community as a joke when they were receiving funding from prolife sponsors. Along with the other double standards like religion and homosexuality he attacked the hand that fed CBS's pocket book so he got the guillotine.
Late Show with David Letterman on January 30th 2009, they had Bill's mother, Mary Hicks on the show, and they played the segment that was cut from the show October 1st 1993.
All I can say is "Finally". Finally some respect for the late, great Bill Hicks. Dave was very apologetic toward Mary Hicks, and she was great and lovely, and handled Dave's questions very well, being much stronger and more direct than Dave expected.
The clips are in my favorites in case anyone is interested.
This does sound like it was from his last round of shows. The whole Letterman thing happened October 9, 1993. As stated here, he died February 26, 1994. To be honest, he sounds too full of energy for this recording to be his last show where he was horribly drained from the chemo and the cancer. Regardless, thank you for putting this show up.
By the way, I have a Canadian comedian friend who met him after a show during a festival they both performed at. She said he was very quiet and very sweet.
In reference to the Letterman censorship, he says, "that's the set I did *Friday night* on the David Letterman show", entire implication is that it had happened less than one week prior.
This isnt Bill Hicks final show. Hicks played the final show of his career at Caroline's in New York on January 6, 1994. He says in this video that he just recently visited Australia during Easter which around the same time he was complaining about pains in his side. It was not until June 16 of that year that he was diagnosed with liver cancer. This show must of been either in between that or a little after that

I thought it was pancreatic cancer? People have talked about it on his videos and "Bill Hicks The Outlaw Comic" (documentary) mentions it as well.

Referencing Easter in Australia was a standard part of setting up that joke. Saying Easter gives no timeframe whatsoever to the recording.

@VolkHeart2009 He didn't die of liver cancer, he died of pancreatic cancer.
