Man how many knowledge you have about music my God im impprest right now...Great video all PRODIGY funs must see this video.Respect...PRODIGY for ever...!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@deejayzyx sampling today is almost a lost art, I dont think you realize how creative this is. Also, all music stands on someones shoulders - this is just a more direct approach.
@Solid1rock I know your comment is 3 months old but I'll reply anyways, yes the guitars in Voodoo People do sound a lot like the beginning of Very Ape, however it is not sampled, Liam had a guitarist play close sounding riffs in the studio which he manipulated through his sampler to get the result found in the finished track... He did this to avoid the obvious royalty fees for such a small sample.
However he did manage to slip in Cobain's voice in the track "Rat Poison".
Szczotkov Are you the normal "man what you say? that Liam is a great dj howlet do to you, looks great if someone copied someone else's shit and then eat it too? Give Be normal, and learn what it means to be original and the copy is crap, I listen to THE PRODIGY 21 years but now I am much disappointed when I learned that they copied someone else's creation and so are the famous personalities for granted is not worth it for I have zero! hmmmm ...
These are allmost only Vocal Samples, which I think is totall okay. But nowadays people just "steal" long passages from other songs pitch it +1 , -1 and are in Top 10.
Просто ахуительно! Ещё больше уважения стало к The Prodigy. Это же надо так вдохнуть жизненную энергию в посредственные по большой части ранние произведения )))
thanks for your effort. interesting, also much fun to listen, especially if you know the original song, but never connected it with a prodigy song you also know.
Liam's like a jackdaw, just collecting samples from all over the place. Nobody is making music anywhere near the Prodigy, Pendulum etc are just poor rip offs
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Hahahaha??? Samples used by the prodigy.. You got to be joking? Do you even understand this kind of music? Liam do this shit totally different.. He´s a fucking genius!!
thats what i taught mate but how much work goes into his tracks.i mean basement jaxx and chemical bros. as as layered and complex but not as heavily sampled.
@Marmberg you retard all songs are made by samples not necessarily from other peoples songs. i make music my self and usually you get various instruments (drums, synth, piano, ect), record a rhythm (a sample) and loop it and then you change things around ect ect
Liam is a fraud? ..In this type of comment just shows the lack of knowledge of the facts. It must ingenuity, art and taste, to pick up on simple samples, and give makeover.
If you think he's a fraud - go try and do this on your own. See how easy it is. Just because someone already sang "you're no good for me..." doesn't mean it was easy...so he sampled a guy singing "magic people, voodoo people" - but he came up with the whole thing on his own! He put all these random samples together in a beautiful flow, and that takes SEEING in your mind's eye how random things like this would fit together...I would have NEVER put them together! Back then you could only sample..
not doubting he is talented but he is not as talented as i taught.outfits like basement jaxx, crystal method or leftfield who was out around the same time there writing is just as layered and complex but not as heavily sampled and in some cases just as good.
Oh my god, I didn't know how "not complicated" it actually was to create these sounds. Somehow it takes the magic away a bit from Liam Howlett. For me.
@SilverSurferDE well i always thought it was obvious how sample based his tunes were. what i thought was wicked about the prodigy was liam took sounds from so many different genres and made them fit together so well. also think of the equipment used back in the early nineties its was all hardware, barely any software. if it was easy their would have been loads of people releasing stuff like them.
@greenblazersl6 that was the "missing link" for me. I always have know that he used samples but not in that all-embracing way. I mean even most of or at least a lot of the drums seem to be samples.I was absolutely surprised by that.Old hardware was not a problem I think.IIts not that difficult to use or limited in function as you might think. The IDEA counts, and there Liam is on top,no doubt! But as I wrote I am surprised about the number of samples one track of him seem to consist of.
Thanks for this compilation! Anyway, I don't care much where are these samples from, Prodigy is simply great. Stealing samples is just part of Liam's art and he is doing it very well.
w ostatniej próbce "Take me to the hospital" przewija się organopodobny sampel użyty też przy starym hicie LA Style "James Brown is Dead". Jestem ciekaw skąd pochodzi.
