  • 4:27 GET UP YA SON OF A BITCH

  • Muy buenas un saludo

  • I have a question, I train BJJ and I know Sambo is like a brother to BJJ but what it the purpose of the those crush moves? I know the rolling knee bar is to break the leg and the americana, or key lock as you called it, it to break the shoulder but what is the damage on the elbow crush and knee crush?

  • @Balor22 it pushes the muscles against the bone. so it can tear the muscle apart

  • @iso53145314 Thanks :)

  • thanks steve, very complete explnation about the thecnic, very good instructor, excuse my english please...

  • great,, Thanks

  • excellent steve!

  • nice! its difficult to get the elbow crush to work from sidemount, especially if the person has short arms, but the knee lock works everytime. thanks sambosteve!

  • well in UFC(not sure about other organizations) but "small" joint manipulation is not allowed but this as implied in the title is more locking to apply pressure to the specific joint....maybe thats why most mma'ers dont apply this to their regime or perhaps they jus dont do it in the fight

  • Small join manipulation refers to things like the knuckle joints in fingers. The wrist is practically the same size as the elbow in terms of joint size, just there are bigger tendons around the elbow. There isn't actualy much muscle on the elbow, it is mostly either side of it with the forearm muscles, and the bicep and tricep muscle.

  • "That's right Mickey, get up ya son of a bitch!"

LOL at the guy in the background at 4.28.

  • Nice T-shirt Steve :)

  • Thanks Steve.

  • Forgive my ignorance ... I just wonder why we don't see these techniques used in high profile MMA matches. That is sometimes a sign that they are too complicated to be useful against a trained opponent.

  • Interesting comment.

Nothing's too complicated to a trained fighter too.

The reason why it suffers such low exposure in MMA is that joint manipulation has a more devastating and decisive effect than muscle crush on both physical and psychological levels.

However, I urge you to try these crushes. They can be extremely painful since it focuses on separating your opponent's muscle with bone.

    Thanks Steve for sharing!

  • Thank you Steve!

  • Pretty painful, it would cause the shin bones to separate from the knee joint (or forearm bones from the elbow) because you are folding the joint around your wrist, and there isn't enough space there for it.

  • Cool techniques. I really like the concept of working in the direction he is pulling. How painful is that and what injury would result?
