Yes that fashion is real, but! that doesn't change the fact that all of these fashion are based on old periods. I have a point to prove that mary antoinette is an idol to Hime Gyaru's and this film explains that Momoko wants to be in that period. Hence reading up that lolita fashion is based on old periods.
